Cordelia vs Cornelia
I'm not actually considering either of these names but saw the name Cornelia as an authors name at the library today and it struck me how similar it is to Cordelia!
My biggest problem with Cordelia (i think i might love it otherwise) is all i can think is of cordiel as in the drink. is it spelt cordial? not sure but you know what i mean!
Cornelia my problem is the 'corn' part i think!
The 'delia' ending is so beautiful too! but Cornelia has a kinda quirk quality to it!
What do you berries think?
ps do you think if linking when writing Cornelia it will look like Comelia? i know the last name blackburn the poor person has to avoid it looking like blackbum lol!Expecting a baby GIRL!!! 19/3/2013

I'm stuck on this as well. I think I'd say Cordelia.
They both have the lovely nickname Cora, but I love the nn Nell that Cornelia provides. That being said, for some reason the n makes the whole name really stuffy and I've decided, just unattractive to me. Cordelia on the other hand, has the spunkiness I love and Delia is a cute nn as well.
Milkytoof: I think of Buffy too! But I kind of like the connection

LOVE Cordelia! I don't really think of drinks, I think of cordial cherries. haha. I think it's lovely, though; I love the Shakespearean connection and the nns Cora and Delia, I think it's just very sweet all around. The "Corn" thing gets me for Cornelia, too. I think Cordelia is more ready to become in-style than Cornelia--Cornelia needs several years still. Or maybe it's just because I'm not a huge fan of the "N"... either way, I prefer Cordelia by a mile.

I think both are fine. Love the main nickname Cora.
Cornelia has some undiscovered charm that looks like it came from way back when. However, Corny jokes will abound. Kids can be mean, trust me. Though, Cornelia Funke is a great author, and I read a great Holocaust memoir by a woman named Cornelia. Plus, Nellie and Nell are spunky alternative nicknames.
Cordelia seems more elegant, more likely to be the name of a princess. Cordelia is more modern, and you can't make jokes about the first syllable. Though, Dell isn't my favorite nn, but Delia and Dee are nice.
In the end, I'd go with Cordelia. But both names are undiscovered jewels.Teen Name Nerd Changing her Name~Lucy~Eliza~Elizabeth~
