    Need An Al Name

My mother's name is Allison and her father's name is Albert. I want to honor both of them with a boy's name beginning with Al. I'm not a huge fan of Alexander, and most of the people I know named Alex are girls. The only names I can come up with are Alcott and Aldo. Opinions on Alcott and Aldo? Suggestions for any Al names?

Love Alcott, for Louisa May! It's so literary and surnamey, two of my favorite name categories!

I think Alasdair/Alistair, Alfred (don't love Alfred in its entirety, really, but it's been growing on me as a way to get to Freddie ), Aloysius, Alaric (I think this is a great one!), and Alban (great masculine alternative to Alba, imo! I don't love Alba, but I adore Alban...) are great possibilities, as well.

    Good luck!

While I love the Louisa May connection, do you think that this makes the name seem more feminine?
