My son has one and my daughter two. We considered two for James, to include both his grandpas, but we were convinced we'd only have boys and didn't want to use up all of our boys names on our first child! We had to have three for our daughter, because we had so many people we wanted her named after! So James Martin and Elizabeth Catherine Anne are ours. James calls himself "James the Racecar" anyway, so his middle name doesn't seem to matter to him!

It personally doesn't bother me if one child has more middle names than the other children, and I don't believe children pay that much attention to their names generally.
