    Strong "country boy" names wanted

I want some boys names that are more cowboy or country boy type names but I don't like the typical obvious (and slightly cheesy) one like Ruger, Dallas, Buck, or Cash... I like names that sounds more like Roy/Ray, Chase, Jaxson, and Levi. Any thoughts??

Already a lot of good suggestions, but here's my take...
First, I tend to think of some simple classics as great country names.. Nothing overly fussy or contrived. Like John. It worked for John Wayne! Or Bill/ Billy.

Also surnames for first names often sound a little bit western. Like Grady. I love this one and it was the mn for the main character (John Grady Cole) in All the Pretty Horses... My favorite cowboy book. Other ideas: Cooper, Wylie, Jackson, Brooks, etc.

If you want an old west feel.. I'd look to biblical names like Silas, Amos, Elias, Micah, Jude, Josiah, etc.

You can always look to country music for some ideas... Trace, Shane, Brad, Jason, etc.

Otherwise, keep it simple with a nickname for a name or one syllable name like Seth, Dean, Luke, Ben, Mac, Cal, Nat, etc.

Hope some of these ideas help you in your search for the perfect name for your little cowboy. :-)
