OMG another boy! Name help please.
So we found out this morning we're having our third boy. I'm so pleased he's gorgeous and healthy although I must have wanted a girl a little more than I had thought... still processing how I feel.
So this leads me to names!
We already have a Felix and a Theodore and I have the following list:
Augustin (Gus)
Reuben
Christopher (Kit)
Otto (can I have an Otto and a Theo though?)
These are all fabulous with the last name, which is notoriously difficult to work with.
I also really love Ari but the last name ends in the ee sound and I'm not sure about a name that sounds like Ari Luckee.
Do you have more suggestions for me?
I can't have: Charlie, Oscar, John, Hugo, Sebastian, Julian, Christian, Julius or Luca.Last edited by ninkynonk; September 22nd, 2012 at 12:58 AM.

I like Christopher and Otto! I think Otto and Theo is fine. Theo has a full name which makes it work better.
I have mixed feelings about Gus Augustin, but it's my favorite of the August names and it works.
Reuben, I dont really care for. It's a good name with good history and I'd admire you for picking it, but, it just always makes me think of sandwiches, and it still feels really clunky to me.
I get similar vibes from...
Alexander
Axel
Christian
Julian (Felix, Theodore, and Julian just sounds great)
Louis/Lewis
Malachi
Matthias
Miles
Milo
Nathaniel (means gift of god like Theodore)
Oliver
Robert
Rufus
Rupert
Sure there are more! Good luck!

Thank you!
I would love Julian but it's DH's best friend's name - we get along, but wouldn't name my kid after him
I really love Rupert from your list - DH says no
If only he didn't have to factor into it!
We live in Australia so we don't have the Reuben sandwiches over here.
It's looking more and more like it's going to be Christopher - I adore the nickname but not the full name so much even though it's my dad's name. DH's other best friend is Christian so that's out too for a way to get to Kit.

Congrats on your third boy! I'm a little jealous
Your sons have awesome names. I love both!
I think your list is really good. The names on it are refreshing, intelligent, cool, and fit so well with your boys.
Felix, Theodore, and...
Augustin (Gus) - This is my least fav of the four but only because the nickname Gus is common to me (I know 2 under age five). If you don't know any I would say go for it
Augustin is amazing! Don't let anyone talk you into August or Augustus - Augustin is my favorite form.
Reuben - This is MY secret special name. I would name a son this in a heartbeat. My SO hates it
I will not give up hope though. I love the name Reuben SO MUCH and I would love to see someone else use it. Such a great name. It really would be my #1 name if my SO didn't have a say.
Christopher (Kit) - I was like "Christopher"? Meh. "Kit"? Nice!! Christopher really doesn't get enough love from me. It's a beautiful name with great history and a million things to admire about it. There is so much versatility in Christopher, too. I might be biast because I have a cousin Christopher & I knew a lot of Kris's and Chris's growing up. I LOVE the nn Kit, though.
Otto - This is my second fav! I don't think you would have trouble having a Theo and an Otto. I really love Otto and I think it would be so refreshing to meet one.
Ari "Luckee" is not really as appealing to my ear but it would bug me less if Ari were short for something more substantial. Andrew? Adrian? Alaric? Aric? Darian? Dario? Zachariah?
Like I said, I love your list!
Have you considered:
Wilhelm
Garrick
Garret
Caspian
Jasper
Lachlan
Tarquin
Cyrus
Rhys
Conall
Callum
Larkin
Lincoln
Tobin
Tobiah
Gideon
Caleb
Abram
Raphael
Rafferty
Jedaiah
Graham
Quentin
Reed
Levi
Leo

Thanks so much for your lovely response
I'm feeling a little fragile tonight and the above has gone a long way to cheering me.
Your words about the name Reuben have made me think that really is my favourite - I too feel like you about Christopher which really makes me hesitate to use it even though I adore Kit so much and have for years. I was pregnant earlier this year but miscarried and Reuben Christopher was the name I had set in stone (in my head.
Now for the mammoth task of convincing my DH! Thanks also for your list - I love Caspian but DH laughs at it. I also love Casper which is similar but DH says we can't have three cartoon character names. Used to adore Jasper but know a gazillion of them now. I should pop Quentin back on the list too - good one.

I'm so sorry to hear about your angel baby
How heart breaking. *hugs*
I love the name Reuben so, so much. I could go on and on... Reuben Christopher is a beautiful combo and I don't think you should cross it off your list of considerations. It has so much special meaning to you and love wrapped up in it. That might end up being the very reason you use it with this little boy. Even if you don't use this combo again it is a beautiful, special name.
I am really glad my responce was helpful. Caspian is such a gem & Casper is another guilty pleasure of mine. How perfect is Casper? That "per" ending is divine & he's so underused. I'm glad you liked Quentin, it is such a great name & I like how it matches with your other sons names. Good luck with everything!
