I always thought peridot was pn pair-ee-dot, so i learned something knew. I think it's cute.

I prefer Madeline because the extra letters in the French version just seem pointless imo

I believe both pronunciations are legitimate. Dictionary.com has them both listed [per-i-doh, -dot].

Ooh, stunning! I agree with the posts above - definitely an elegant and whimsical combo. Peridot is unusual, elegant, and jazzes up the popular (but lovely) Madeleine. Totally gorgeous.

    A+ for me!

Thanks Berries. I feel a lot more encouraged now that most people like this name.

@catloverd- I like the Madeleine spelling because it just looks cleaner and I don't know. Haha.

Do you think Peridot would have pronunciation problems in reality?

    Keep it going, Berries!

I LOVE it! I have Madelaine high up on my list as a middle name for Viola, and Peridot is a GP of mine. I think Madeleine Peridot is lovely.
