First post in a long timeeeee!

I have kind of settled on 9 first names but combo's are something I haven't thought about yet! The names are Asher, Caleb, Elijah, Ezra, Gabriel, Isaac, Jude, Micah (Mee-cuh) & River. However, I've got a whole long list of other names that I love/like and I want to cut those down so I'm looking for you lovely people to pick your 10 favourites from the long list.

    Atticus
Aubrey (More boys born than girls in the UK but still outside top 1000 for boys and girls)
August (I'm worried it will be seen as odd here, only 3 born in 2011)
Avery (Not worried about use on girls - outside the top 1000 names for boys and girls)
    Barnaby
Bennett (Again, very uncommon, only 3 born last year)
    Brogan
Cade (Massive GP for me, would love to use it but think more of a middle name)
    Cassius
    Cavan (Honors my father)
    Chase
    Drake
Eden (How does this fit with my other favourites?)
    Edgar
Elias (Elijah shot up in 2011 so I'm considering this more and more)
    Gideon
Harper (Not at all worried about the use on females)
    Jacoby
    Jenson
    Joel
    Laken (Too trendy?)
    Lincoln
    Maddox
    Malachi
    Morgan
    Nathaniel
    Preston
Rafferty (My nephew is likely to be named Rafael, too close?)
    Ramsey
    Roman
    Rourke
    Samson
    Seth
    Silas
    Spencer
Theodore (Ranks at #124 but the nickname Theo is #50 - what do you make of this?)
    Tobias
    Wyatt
    Xavier
Xander (Too nicknamey or can it work?)
    Future Little Prince
    Isaac - Solomon - Barnaby - Atticus - Ezekiel - Augustin - River - Jacoby - Castiel - Xavier

    Future Little Princess
    Florentina - Matilda - Theodora - Evangeline - Beatrix - Olwen - Jovi - Seraphina - Maeve - Clementine

    Starring my favorites :-)

Atticus - This is too.. "hipster" for me.
Aubrey - I normally don't like boy name's on girls, but this one I prefer on girls. What about Addison? I love that on a boy.
August - I kind of like it. Not a favorite but nice.
*Avery - Love this on a boy!
    Barnaby - Don't like.
    *Bennett - Like a lot!
    Brogan - Don't like.
    Cade - Meh. Nothing exciting.
    Cassius - It's ok.
Cavan - Don't really like it TBH. Maybe as a middle name to honor him?
Chase - Not wonderful, not terrible.
    Drake - Don't like.
Eden - Like this better on a girl.
    Edgar - NMS.
    *Elias - Like.
    Gideon - It's ok.
Harper - Meh. I know a couple little girls already with it and honestly I'm just bored of it (whether it's on a boy or girl).
Jacoby - It's ok but I'd prefer just Jacob.
    Jenson - Don't like.
    *Joel - Love!
Laken - Seems made up TBH.
    Lincoln - It's ok.
    Maddox - NMS.
    Malachi - It's ok.
    Morgan - Meh.
    *Nathaniel - Like!
    Preston - Not bad.
Rafferty - Not a fan. And yeah, for me it would be too close but that's up to you.
    Ramsey - Too last namey.
    Roman - It's ok.
    Rourke - Too last namey.
    Samson - It's ok.
    Seth - Not bad.
    *Silas - Love!
Spencer - Like but don't love.
    *Theodore - Love!!
    *Tobias - Love!
    *Wyatt - Like a lot.
    Xavier - It's ok.
Xander - I know of a Zander, so IMO it works. I do like Alexander, nn Xander as an option.

    Top 10 boy's names: Elliott * Callum * Theodore * Emmett * Nolan * Ian * Blake * Brennan * Adrian * Everett

    I would keep:

    Atticus
August (I'm worried it will be seen as odd here, only 3 born in 2011)
Avery (Not worried about use on girls - outside the top 1000 names for boys and girls)
Elias (Elijah shot up in 2011 so I'm considering this more and more)
Harper (Not at all worried about the use on females)
    Lincoln
    Seth
    Silas
    Spencer
    Tobias

I would keep several as MN options (Theodore, Cavan, Eden, Barnaby, etc.), but those are my favorites for FNs. Although I definitely wouldn't use Elijah and Elias together, I'd probably pick just one. (And I so called Elijah in the UK! ha!)
    Ashley
    twenty-something namenerd and aspiring novelist

    Isabelle + Arianne + Olivia + Violet + Charlotte + Emmeline + Eleni + Grace + Audrey + Eva + Catherine + Tess + Zoe
    Caleb + Everett + Jack + Avery + Samuel + Zane + Brody + Declan + Caspar + Grant + Rory + Thomas + Peter

Ha, I'm so disappointed that Elijah has hit the top 100! I'm going to hang on to it though because I do love Elijah more than Elias. I haven't heard of or met any Elijah's though so it still feels fresh to me. I'm also trying to not be put of by popularity, unless it's trendy-popular so something like Ava, Riley, Jenson (although I love this!!!) etc.
