    Question NN for Stella.. Ellie?

I was thinking I like the name Stella but I love the nn Ellie. Could I name my daughter Stella and call her Ellie and it not be too different/weird? Or would I need/have to call her Ella, etc.

I would just name her Ellie if that's what you're going to call her. Stella nn Ellie sounds like a nickname for a nickname to me. What's more, Ellie isn't any shorter than Stella.

Yes. I agree. Although, I do think that Ellie can be a nn for a longer name beginning with El.
