I like it (I'm American) and it feels relatively fresh to me. To my Australian husband, it's like I hear Dwight - a "solid un-made-up name" but dated and a bit "bogan" which is Aussie for redneck.

This is a really obscure association, I'm certain, but every time I hear the name Gavin all I can think is that creepy-crawly cockroach from Homestar Runner. Frankly, I don't care how cute or adorable a baby Gavin may seem, that "pest" association will never leave me.

I'm now just getting to reply to this and, I too was a Degrassi fan. rofl. Gavin & Mason is on my list though.

I feel like the odd one out who doesn't like it! Gavin is very 90's to me (probably because of Degrassi) and I just dont' care for the sound. It's in the same ranks as Kevin and Kenneth for me: dated and sort of bleh. Sorry if that was harsh!

It's a little bit 90s to me cause of Gavin Rossdale. I do like it better than Kevin or Devin though.

It's funny because I'm a 90's baby. xD! I'm right at the border 1989.
