I think Asher Stayner is a bit of a mouthful. It's not terrible, but I think there are many other options out there that would flow much better. I love Theo and Samuel is great too.

Some other name you may like:
    Owen
    Jenson
    Harrison
    Sawyer
    Bennett
    Sayer
    Callen
    Jonah / Jonas

I love Asher. I don't think it clashes with your last name at all.
If it really does bother you I like Theo from your list as well. Levi, although not on your list, is a cute name as well.
Since Asher is the name you truly love, I would go with Asher.
Best of luck to you!! Congratulations Xx

I am not a fan of the double -er. It makes me feel a little tounge-tied when I say it.

I saw that you said your favorite is Blake David. Is David the set middle name?

    I like (in order):
    Theo David Stanyer
    Blake David Stanyer
Cameron David Stanyer (but again with the double ER)

I'd axe Samuel because I think it also runs into Stanyer. They Sam and Stan sounds are way to similar in my opinion.

I think that if you really like/love this name then you should use it. The flow of a name is important, but is it more important than going with a name that you love? Asher Stanyer sounds totally fine to me and Asher is such a cute name!

It's not terrible but I think Blake Stanyer sounds amazing! He sounds like a friend of Clark Kent..

Me and my partner read through all of the replies together this morning and we would just like to say thanks again for all the help. I think we have with your help narrowed the names down to either Asher or Blake. I think we will wait until baby arrives before we choose one for them. For any that are interested I will post back with the name we chose once the little one is here

    I do think it's a little rhyme-y.

I really love the combo, Blake Stanyer, and Theo Stanyer looks good too.

I think it's not only the "er" ending that's repetitive, but also the sound of the "a" in Asher and Stanyer. No way would I use the two together--it would be especially tricky for foreigners to say should your son someday travel. I'd go with Blake, which is a really good balance of sounds. Or Theo.
