How would you picture an Astrid?
Hiya berries

Back with a minor name-change dilemma! I've been thinking about Astrid lately, and I really love it, but I'm a little worried I don't "look the part". I'm part German, part Ukrainian and half Chinese, but look predominately as though somebody's smooshed America Fererra & Jenna Ushkowitz together, added a dash of Penelope Cruz, then aged that combo down to a teenager.
So the question is, would you expect an Astrid to be a tall blonde Scandinavian-Viking-type girl, or could you see her being a short brunette bookworm?
Fun fact: America Fererra was the voice of Astrid in How To Train Your Dragon!
TIA

I always picture Astrid to be brunette, average height.
I think it could work on you just fine.

If I had to guess, tall and pale but dark-haired. No, I don't see it as deserving of being left in Sweden.
I've noted before my weakness for names with certain striking sounds. A lesser case of that is girls' names ending in D.

My first thought when I hear Astrid is always Astrid Appels, my favourite equestrian photojournalist. She is a brunette from Belgium- I've attached a link of her picture. So no, I wouldn't find a non-Scandinavian Astrid weird or think it doesn't work. But if I heard of an Astrid I would probably assume she was tall and blond.
