A.J R.j T.J etc. names?

Hi I was sitting here thinking about my brother T.J and I had some questions that I wanted to talk to you guys with? First of all how many blank-J names have you heard? I've heard.....

A.J
B.J (which in todays time wouldn't be casually said)
C.J
D.J
J.J
K.J
L.J
O.J
P.J
R.J
S.J
T.J

Have you heard any others? or not heard any of these?

Also do you think its unoriginal to call your kids these if named after the dad? or would you rather go by the middle name?

And what do you think of girls with these names, I've only ever heard one and that was from Full House, remember D.J?

And my brother doesnt even right the dot anymore, it's just Tj, the j isn't even capitolized, comments on that?

There's also M.J. (Mary Jane) Watson from Spiderman, so that's another for the girls. I'm not particular about periods--both T.J. and TJ are fine with me--but I do care about capitalization. Tj doesn't look quite right to me.

I don't think using initials for a junior is any less original than junioring itself. Whether I'd rather use initials than the middle name to differentiate father from son depends on the name in question. My first choice would actually be a distinctive nickname.

I have a female coworker that goes by P.J. (stands for Patricia Joan) and a former female coworker that goes by B.J. (Betty Jo). I do prefer them on males to females though. There is a female character on Criminal minds named J.J. whose name is actually A.J. lol

I'm not particular about the periods but I think I prefer both initals to be capitalized.

I'm not a fan of Juniors but I kind of like TJ over actually calling them junior or their middle name. As long as it isn't random a random inital...like W.J or something like that.

Im a girl who went by C.J as a child since initials were easier than my first name for very little kids to say! Born in mid 1980s, family phased it out when Baywatch (Pam Anderson's character..) hit the air...I guess that proves you never know what could happen to your fave name after the fact. :/

I know a couple male AJs, a male RJ, and a female DJ...all initials not juniors.

Thanks I'd also like to mention theres a kid in our school who goes by his first and last name initial (AP), because he hates his real name. Do you think the last name should be brought into this?

The ones off your list I've known:

A.J - boy
C.J - boy
P.J. - girl
T.J. - girl

Never met the others. Others I've met: E.J. & J.P. I used to know, and I'm good friends with a J.R. (not a junior, it's his initials). My brother used to get called A.W. in family but never as a popular nickname amongst his friends.

If I have 2 sons the second will likely end up with me calling him A.J. but my husband can't see himself using initial names, he finds them "odd to say, very American" and for example even calls my friend JR, Joseph. I haven't found another initial I like as well as J with A, though AG is a possibility.

My dad used to call me J.G. and still does occasionally but he's the only person to ever have really done that, (and that was first-last not first-middle so no one else would do it anymore as that's not my last name anymore) and I found it sweet, so I don't care if I'm the only person to ever call my son A.J., it's just not very embarrassing as nicknames from your Mom could get so he can just suck it up.

I've heard AJ, BJ, CJ, DJ, EJ, JJ, KJ, LJ, MJ, OJ, PJ, RJ, TJ, VJ, I think that's it. I'm quite selective for the ones I like. I like KJ, JJ, and MJ for a girl, and EJ, JJ, and MJ for a boy. Usually it's because I have good associations to the name, though. I have a cool coworker named JJ, and I loved JJ on Criminal Minds (I haven't really seen past halfway through the fifth season--I assume she's still there, and I still love her). I had a friend who had a son named EJ, and he's just the cutest. AJ and all the others seem really bland to me. My top choice for a boy is Caleb Elias Joseph; there's no way he'll go by CJ, I just hate it. Caleb is just the perfect name, imo, there's no way I'll spoil it by truncating his gorgeous name to two measly letters. If I didn't love Everett so much, I'm not sure I would mind if I had an Everett Joshua Charles and he went by EJ. My problem is I love the actual name way too much to use just an initial nn. But I'm not opposed to other families doing it if that's what suits them. And lol, the spelling doesn't really matter to me. I would spell it two capital letters, no period, but it's not my place to say whether it should be E.J., EJ, or Ej. The problem with Aj or Ej or Oj is that I think people would say it more like Ahj, ej (like edge) or oj (ahj), not A-J, E-J, or O-J. kwim?
