Name Exasperation!
Longtime lurker - first time poster.
My name is Breckan
DH is Brian
DS1 is Samuel George
DS2 is Brant Christopher
Dog is Max
DS3 is due in 2 weeks!
DH had his heart set on the name Andon from about 17 weeks on. I initially agreed, but after thinking (obsessing) over it, I decided I do not like it. I don't like saying Brant and Andon (too many "and's" together). PLUS - neither of us like the nn's Andy, Don, or Donnie.
I had my heart set on August, nn Auggie. DH hates it.
My name list (nothing jumps out at him):
August nn Auggie
Abram
Ezra
Porter
Wilder
Archer
HIS name list (he only got through A and B)
Bryson/Bricen
Brayson
I can live with Bryson, but then everybody in our family would have the "Br" combo except for my DS Sam. He's 14 from my first marriage, and I'd rather not do that to him. I am impatiently waiting for more names out of DH but I fear he will not have any more.
Can anyone come up with some suggestions based on his like for Andon/Bryson and my like for Auggie?
Thanks!

I love August too. Maybe your husband will go for Augusten/Augustin? It has a more name like feel.
I don't like how Andon sounds with your children and I just generally don't like Bryson.
Here's some names I think you might like and go well with the other boys:
Quentin
Vance
Donovan
Braxton
Ryder
Trevor
Greyson
Arthur
Ambrose
Evander
Jack
Tobin
Foster
Bevan
Arden
Bryce
Alton
Jude
Nolan
Paxton
Milo
Auden
Asher
Albin
Do you like any of those?http://angelslittleowl.wordpress.com/

I know a lot of 3-child families where two have names that start with the same letter (mine included). I really don't think it's nearly as big of a deal in terms of exclusion as parents on name boards seem to think it is. That being said, I don't like Bryson, lol. My brothers are actually named Bryan and Brett, which are really similar to Bryson and Brant
My mom really liked Craig for Brett. Sam, Brant and Craig sound good together.
To mix Andon and August, I think the logical first suggestion is Austin/ Austen.
A couple others that come to mind:
Anson
Asher
Archer
Angus
Otis (? Grasping at straws, haha)
Tavish (I like this a lot! It's surnamey like Andon, but has some similar sounds to August)
Good luck!Lucia
Edmund, Màrius
Seraphine, Eulàlia

I have to admit that while I'm not one to get bothered when two kids in one family share initials, a family with Breckan, Bryan, Brant, and Bryson would definitely catch my attention (getting a tad Duggarish), and Sam's name would stand out to me as not quite included. I would steer clear of another Br- name myself.
To match his style to yours, it seems to me you need a surname with a vintage ring but a more modern sound (no wonder you're having trouble in the middle, haha). What about Sam, Brant, and....
Gage
Winslow (nn Win?)
Garrett (nn Rhett if you like)
Conall
Crew
Curran
Drake
Pierce/Piers
Penn
Rafferty (nn Rafe?)
Rory
Grady
Rigby
Thatcher
Trace or Trey
Cyrus or Silas
Hale
Granger
Gannon
Jacoby
PS I'm sorry for any repeats. I just skimmed the previous posts, but I think Tavish, Tobin, Lincoln (love nn Cole), and Austin are great ideas!

I would not use another BR name. I love Brant and Samuel!
My first thoughts were:
Brant, Samuel and Graham
Brant, Samuel and Dawson
Brant, Samuel and Nolan
Brant, Samuel and Trace
Brant, Samuel and Grady
Brant, Samuel and Jasper
Brant, Samuel and Nash
Brant, Samuel and Walker
Brant, Samuel and Easton

Reidar is in our family tree (Norwegian) so I'm digging that. We would spell it Ryder for ease though.
He also likes Trace and Daxton (Dax). Middle name choices are Charles or Hans.
I'm starting to feel better, ladies! And it's much easier showing him your lists than mine since I take it personally when he doesn't like my names!
