I love this thread; when I was picking names for my girls I wouldn't consider anything unless it had a decent nn. Funny how some people are the opposite and like names because they can't be shortened or nn-ed, or give their child a 3 syl name & then insist that they never be called anything else.

I like Elfie & Honey, also Pepper, Frankie & Chessie from other replies. Polly from Olympia is just inspired!

    Didi - Astrid or Ingrid
    Ari - Clara (pn Clahra)
    Lolly - Lolita or Lauren
    Pippa - Philippa
    AndiMiranda or Andrea
    Buzz/Buzzy – Bea or Beatrice/Beatrix
    KittyKatherine
Posy – Dianthus or any other botanical names (Sage, Rosemary etc)
    Mikey - Michale
    Stevie - Stephanie
SophieJosephine. I originally thought of this as a work-around for liking Sophie for my daughter, but being worried about it being too popular, so there would be a fall back & other nn options if she was always in a class with 3 other Sophie/Sophias. Didn’t go with it in the end, though.
Veg - Virginia; crazy, but true! My friend (now in her late forties) has had this nn for years + years.

Thanks guys some great suggestions! I love tabitha...with tabby or bitty or Cristabel with tabby is an awesome combo which I've never heard before, Zenobia with zen, Felicity with flick and Juliet which is a name I love with jet!! I also love the pairing of temperance and pepper even though I probably wouldn't use this myself!! Lucinda...Indi and penelope...poppet are also cute pairings I havent heard of before!
