Ah... I love Aster as well, such a beautiful name and flower. May I suggest using it in the middle spot, if you are worried about the teasing issues. Seren Aster is lovely.

Yes, any names can be teased but Aster is basically placing a "kick me" sign on your kid

I immediately thought of Ass-turd. On an episode of The Office, everyone kept mispronouncing baby Astrid's name as Ass-turd. I'd go with Astoria or Astaire and you could call her Aster

It sounds very pretty, I would worry about teasing though. Seren is also gorgeous but reminds me too much of Sarin Gas (said the same). What about Aria, Sloane, OR other unisex names (harper, harlow, marlow, )
Natacha - mother to Geneva Simone

I like Astrid more than Aster or Seren, I prefer Asteri the Finnish version of Aster as it softens the 'ter' bit.

I do like the name for the same reasons you do--floral but not frilly, and also slightly Scandinavian in feel (to me, anyway). But because of that episode of The Office, unfortunately, ass-turd is the first thing that comes to my mind... I think it will be the same for many adults since it's such a popular show, and I think kids will probably think of it on their own.

What about something like Linnea? I know it has a totally different sound, but it is still floral, not frilly, and Scandinavian in feel.

If I just read the names of children called Camden, Beckett, and Seren, my first assumption would be that they were all boys.

Asters are beautiful flowers, but not such a great name for a girl/woman, maybe OK in the middle as others have suggested. In your shoes, I would be looking for a name with a different ending than "en" or "ett" that was reliably feminine.....and no more unusual than either Camden or Beckett, yet still with a modern sound. Lara, Tessa, Calla, Zelda, Alba, Elsa........

I personally love Aster, and plan on using it, but I'm in Australia and we don't say 'a**', it's more like 'arse', so the pronunciation is not so much of an issue, as Aster is more like 'a**'. Does that make sense?

PS. Given the yikes-ness of the Australian accent (I'm not a fan of my accent!), I think I can get away with 'Star' as a nickname for Aster, so I'm over my issues with the name.

Hope you find what you're looking for!
