Expecting Twins, Would Love Some Opinions And Ideas
I have been lurking around these forums for quite some time during my pregnancy and decided to sign up today because my husband and I have a dilemma:
We are finding no luck in finding any names that we love for our 3rd/4th children. We are expecting twins (we will find out the genders at the birth) so it has become more difficult.
I think part of the problem is that with our other children when we heard their names we knew they were the one, The Thats Us, Thats Our Children Moment.
So when it comes to this pregnancy nothing has stuck out, we like some names but we don't love them.
Here are some of the names we have thought about:
Lucy (Gorgeous but oh so popular around our area)
Anya (It keeps popping up in my head, but I feel like it doesn't have much oomph for us)
Felicity
Tuala prn Too uh la(I really like this, he does too but is it a little weird?)
Rupert (I love the nn Roo, but Rupert feels a little pretentious)
Cillian
So how do you feel about these names? What would you pair with them B/B, G/G, G/B? Or maybe suggest some new names, we would love your help.
I suppose I should add that our other children's names are Hugo and Susanna , and that the middle names we are thinking of or their variants are Elizabeth, Anne, Claudia, Donal, Gerald, Joseph, Eamon or Jack.
I should also add that we're not looking for any word names as our last name is a 1 syllable colour name.
We are due at the end of September, so plenty of time to look things over but we would love to have the same feeling again that we had with Hugo and Susanna.
Thank you for your time,
Melody.Last edited by melody moon; July 23rd, 2012 at 08:30 AM.

Lucy and Rupert are fab! They fit really nicely with Hugo and Susanna too, a little old-fashioned (which is a good thing!) but not too predictable. I think Dulcie is similar in feel to Lucy, but less common. And Rufus would be a nice alternative to Rupert if you wanted one, keeping the nn Roo (this was once my cat's name, now used as a nn by my brother, sister-in-law and neice! Clearly it has something!)
I like your mns Claudia and Jack. Also a fan of 'T' names that are a bit unusual - you might consider Tullia, Thecla, Thea, Tallulah, Tabitha, Tessa...
Sorry am not very good at thinking up sibsets, but always happy to comment on others' suggestions! Congratulations & best of luck
PS Flora/Florence just came to mind too, dunno if your style.Last edited by bob=kate; July 22nd, 2012 at 09:58 AM. Reason: afterthought

My favorites are also Lucy and Rupert, though I do think Cillian (prn. Killian) is nice as well.
But I don't know if I think Rupert and Cillian are great matches for a B/B twin set. When I think of Rupert I think of classic, vintage names and would match it with something like James, Miles, Nigel, Alfred, William, Arthur or Walter. My favorite of these combos would be Rupert and Arthur, and I think that they match Hugo REALLY well!
With Cillian I think of old Celtic names such as Rohan, Aidan, Cormac, Connor, Eamon, or Sullivan. And I don't think these go as well with Susanna and Hugo.
For your other girls names (other than Lucy) they are really not my style.

Thanks for your input guys!
@mischa-I like Ezra, Marcus, Greta, Petra and Imogen (though Imogen is rather popular around my area as well).
@danishnames-Yes, I don't think Cillian and Rupert go well together but they are names we like individually. I like Arthur for the nickname Artie but it feels a little fusty if that makes sense, thats probably the same problem I have with Rupert. Thank you for your advice on old Celtic names (Cillian) its making me think twice about using it.
I'm going to bed now, but can't wait for the responses in the morning. I also need to discuss these names with my partner especially the name Greta.

I like the U sound uniting all the sibs name-- Hugo, Susanna, Rupert, and Lucy are are lovely sibset. If Lucy is too common, maybe Lucia, Lucretia, or Lucinda instead? Louisa would work well too.
A few other U sounding names:
Julia, Juliet
June, Junia
Eugenie, Eugenia
Claudia (as a fn)
Rufus
Cassius
Marcus

After a bit of talking today we have taken Cillian off our list, my partner is lukewarm about Marcus and Ezra reminds him of Ezra Miller from "We need to talk about Kevin" who played Kevin and he does not like it at all.

Greta garnered the same reaction as Marcus but I think he is quite interested in Petra which after a day of thought has captivated me a little as well.
I was playing around with middle names with Petra and here is what I came up with, do they work?
Petra Elizabeth
Petra Liana
Petra Lillia
Petra Sibeal
Petra Isabel
Petra Anais
Petra Anouk
@waitingfortwins-I really like Benjamin but sadly its been used by my brother, Eli is gorgeous as well but to DH it feels insubstantial. I like your girl name suggestions but a few of them have been chosen by family and friends (Phoebe, Ruby, Claire, Janet).
@davisellu-Thank you about pointing out the U connection, I actually hadn't realised it till now (isn't that silly!) Juliet is gorgeous but the Shakespeare connection might be too much though Junia is lovely as well and I think DH quite likes it as well. We'll just have to determine whether its right for us.
Overall thanks for the input would love to see more feedback.
