This is my step moms name and she pronounces it with the lynn sound, which I like better than leen or line.

I pronounce it with "line". The "leen" pronounciation has never crossed my mind. I don't think I like the "leen" way. Sounds kind of made up.

Because this name is primarily Cajun and used in the states more than anywhere else and the Cajuns say "eeen" I would say that's the correct prn, especially considering its other roots (spelled this way) are French Canadian and French where they both say Eeen".

I'm in Australia and I pronounce it 'leen' as well. Only one of the 'line' ending names (eg. Emmeline, Clementine, Caroline etc) that I pronounce as 'leen', the rest are 'line' in my mind. Agree with the other posters who said that the 'leen' pronounciation sounds prettier too!

Wow I didn't expect all the answers to this, lol! I've never heard anyone pronounce the name before so I just wasn't sure. Sounds like leen is most common and correct, I guess but others have heard line and lynn. I personally like "line". I'm not sure why. I don't care for "leen" endings too often though, maybe thats why? Anyhow, I think we can close this one down.
