I really like Ian, Nathan and patrick too but am kind of bored with them, especially Nathan. I don't even care about popularity, just want something I'll love and will suit him. I kind of feel frivolous even worrying about names right now but I don't want to be obsessing over him being born with complications. I also worry if there are problems, it will be so high stress that we will make a mistake like giving him the initials GAS without realizing it.

It's funny that you mention GAS because that is exactly the reason a friend of mine did not use Gabriel even though it was her favorite name. She was going with Gabriel Alexander which, itself, is a great combo. She ended up with Benjamin Alexander, which is also very nice.

I think Gabriel is all man -- I would never describe this name as girly. Ever. And Gabriel Owen is very handsome. I also like Alexander Owen and Owen Everett. I love the name Everett, but it does seem a bit too close to Avery to me.

Best of luck tomorrow. I hope everything goes well.

Instead of Ewan and Ian, maybe you would both love Ioan!

I'm also going to fire off a shot in the dark and suggest Ivo as a name you might like.

Of the names on your list I have to agree that Everett may be too similar to Avery. Gabriel, Oliver and Alexander are all nice names, I don't happen to like Gabriel but there's nothing wrong with it. I think Oliver is handsome and manly, also it has the V in it like Avery if you want to keep a subtle theme. Alexander is my favorite for unusual nicknames Lex and Xander. Alexander would give both kids the A initial with is a more obvious theme but not a problem if you don't mind it.

Best wishes for your induction, and maybe thinking about his name will help keep your mind off your worries.

I really like Alexander, especially with Avery and a one-syllable last name.

All of your names are great and there are some excellent combos to be found just in the names you've listed!

I like Gabriel and do not think it's too girly. I was never very fond of this name but met an adorable little boy named Gabriel and it totally changed my opinion. Now I love the name. Gabriel Alexander?

I also like Alexander Ryan, Gabriel Alexander, and Everett Alexander....really, all your name choices are great!

I like all the names on your list though so in my opinion you can't go wrong!
