Whisper???
Could this be a name or is it WAY too out there? I probably wouldn't go with it anyway b/c then both siblings would have names ending in -er, but thought of it today & wanted opinions!

I like it, in a GPish sort of way. I think it's way too out-there to really use, but it'd make a nice MN, if you really want to use it. I like Vesper--similar sound, but a bit more usable, imo.
I know a mom who named her second son Whisper Lukas, he goes by Luke, but I was really surprised when she announced it. I think she discovered the name in a dream? I think because of her Whisper's a bit masculine, but it obviously doesn't have any ties to either gender. Which gender were you thinking of?

Whisper is a little out there for me, but I kind of like it for someone else! Just know that if you do it, you're quite possibly locking yourself into a -er, hippy-dippy pattern. Are we talking girl or boy here?

At work we have a regular customer's name who is Whisper. I was surprised when I first heard it but it has grown on me. I would never personally use it. I picture the name on a girl.

I saw the name Rispa from the 1800s. It has the same sound, but without the -er ending and without being a word name.

It's way too out there for me for a kid. I plan on naming a future cat Whisper though after reading the Wicked Series (there's a gray female cat named Whisper in the book) I think it's cute for a cat, not a kid.

Whistler is out since that's the name of one of my parent's llamas, LOL! I was thinking of Whisper for a girl.
I actually thought of Whisper when I thought of Rumor as a name. Rispa is cool. It's just so unusual that I wouldn't want my LO to constantly have to spell & explain their name. I like unique names, but want it to be a name that is also familiar. Whisper & Juniper are a horrible sibset, but I still like it as a name--maybe for a future pet!Proud mama of Juniper Anne (11/2010)
