I didn't vote because: Flora is my middle name, and I have always disliked it. I feel it's stodgy next to my more
    "pretty"names.
I can not vote for Luna, I dislike it, and to me it's a pets name. (have met many dogs named luna) case in point:Manon (a kids cartoon on treehouse tv) has a cat named Luna, and Sailor moons cat was also luna

The pet thing doesn't bother me since I know plenty of pets with human names:
My friend's dog was named Sarah
My fiance's cats are named: Maxine, Madeline, and Milo
My cousin's dogs are named: Daisy, Duke, and Shiloh, she also had a horse named George

Also Diana was a cat in Sailor Moon and that's my name

So I don't understand the pet thing :/

I'm a big fan of Flora! Old fashioned, yet refreshing at the same time. I've never really liked Luna, although I do think it's quite cute , but as a PP said, I don't think it will age as well as timeless Flora.

What I meant, maybe it didn't come across well, is that I've never met a Luna (person) I know tons of animals with the name. I understand that people name their pets in everyday names, but Luna, in my experience is prevalently a dog's name

Ah I see, well Luna is actually ranked #278, so it's rising in popularity. I actually never met any pets named Luna....

I like Flora better than Luna because of the teasing potential with Luna (looney). But, it's not the end of the world and who knows if it would even happen. Maybe wait until she is born and go with which one feels best for her once you meet her, if you can wait. Since you like both names you'll end up with one you love no matter what.

Both are beautiful names. I am biased towards Luna. I love the light, musical, slightly mystical quality of it and since my name is unheard of and people are always spelling and saying it wrong I often give my name as Luna at places that need a name and are bound to get mine wrong without a long explanation and slowly spelling it out for them (i.e. Starbucks or Jamba Juice) and whenever I give it as Luna I get almost as many compliments as my real name gets. However, Flora is lovely as well. It's so sweet and vintagy. I can see it on a sweet, artsy, outdoorsy little girl who likes fairies and storybooks and ballerina's. That's just what I see though. I think it's timeless and would age well, too.
