Your child's zodiac sign?
I have always been interested in astrology and zodiac signs, Western and Chinese, and I am just looking for a discussion about them. I am not a religious or particularly spiritual person, but from all the research and reading I've done on astrology, some of it makes a lot of sense and it's almost eerie how spot on the personality descriptions are. A few of the questions I have...
Did you research your child's zodiac sign before they were born?
Did you plan your pregnancy to have a child of a certain zodiac sign?
Does your child fit the supposed personality of his/her sign?
Do you respect one zodiac over the other, Chinese over Western or vice versa?
I know there are a lot of spiritual/new agey Berries out there! I would love to hear your thoughts.

I don't hve any children yet but I feel similarly to you. I wouldn't call myself a particularly spiritual person but I am really interested in astrology. I research pretty much every person I meet's zodiac sign, so I'm certain I would instantly do the same for my child!! Its also the first thing I think of when I hear someones due date! I don't think I would plan for my child to be a particular sign, but there is definiatly a couple I would try to avoid- I just can't help but think about it!
If you are interested in astrology I highly reccomend the book "The secret language of birthdays'. It takes the zodiac signs one step further, and in my experience is almost always pretty accurate.Yvette ~ Lover of namesDreaming of a baby one day!

I love astrology! I don't actually take it seriously, but I do think it's fun. That being said, I am excited that our baby is due in December, as they'll be born during the Year of the Dragon and I think that's just a super cool zodiac sign to have.

I'm very into astrology, and once you realize there is more to just Sun signs, you realize how accurate it really can be. I have a book called "The Hidden World of Birthdays" by Judith Turner, and that's so accurate, it's scary. It's an eye-opener as well that it might not be 100% but that's because you're just not at your 100% yet.
Anyways, I'm not a mother yet but I would likely try to plan my kids births in certain signs, or rather avoid certain signs.
I'm an Aries, and SO's a Leo, so I'd love another fire sign, but I'd definitely avoid Gemini, Scorpio, Taurus likely Cancer and Pisces.
Ideally I'd have Aries, Leo, Capricorn boys, and Aries and Libra girls.
I prefer "Western" over Chinese simply because it's more detailed, and I know more about it. Chinese in order to have a certain sign you have to plan/skip out by years. That's too much time, for me! It's also too broad.2O - Aries - Slytherin - Daycare Assistant Teacher

I always thought I would plan my children's zodiac signs so they would compliment each other and have more potential to be close, but Rowan was sort of unplanned so now I have to plan the next one to fit her sign, which is Libra/Rabbit. I am a Leo and my husband is a Pisces. From my research, I would like the next child to be a Leo or Sagittarius. Maybe an Aries. But I am more concerned with avoiding certain signs... Cancer, Capricorn, Aquarius, Virgo. It's definitely going to be tricky timing it though. That's kind of the reason I like Chinese zodiac because it's easier to plan. And I think Chinese zodiac, while broader, is more telling of personality. My Chinese sign is the Rabbit and I definitely have more of a Rabbit personality than a Leo, which are very much opposites. My husband is a Horse, and he is way more Horse than Pisces. I'm kind of confused when I should have a next child because 2013 is the year of the Snake, and I definitely don't want a Snake (also it's a little too soon, I would have to get pregnant in the next 6-8 months...no thank you) 2014 is year of the Horse, and I think it would be cool for our kids to share our signs, but 2015 is year of the Sheep and the Sheep personality sounds so sweet and gentle compared to the Horse (I love my husband but he can be somewhat abrasive and loud, and sort of aloof) and I don't know if I would want a child like that. The Sheep personality seems to compliment the Rabbit one so much better. I dunno... I just like to talk about this kind of stuff, my husband and sister think it's silly so I don't have anyone to bounce ideas off of.

I don't have children, but like you, I'm not very spiritual, but I'm interested in astrology. I love hearing peoples birthdays, and looking them up in my birthday book to see how their personalities match up. In some cases it very acurate, in others it's totally off! I was born in the year of the Rat, and I've always wanted to learn more about it. I'm also a Leo- which is very interesting! I'm much more interested in my sisters sign though, because she was born right on the Leo-Libra cusp.
I try not to take it too seriously, but it's super fun and a good way to pass the time!

My mom is very into this...she has a big red book that she's obsessed with! She, my daughter & I are all Caps but my mom breaks it down by week so we are all different lol!
I have a 6 month old so I'm not sure if she's like her sign dictates but it's something that I will be conscious of!

Our little one, provided all goes well, will be a Piscean! My husband seems to think this is the "worst" zodiac sign, and would prefer a fire sign baby, but we didn't plan this pregnancy that way!

I'm a Leo and my husband is a Capricorn, so it'll be nice to have a water sign to add to our family! We might even add an air sign in future, to complete the set! Haha!
