    Protagonist

In a slightly dystopian novel I'm drafting, I've got the name Kendall picked out for one of the protagonists, a button-pushing, good-looking, slightly clumsy, born-to-lead kind of character. The catch? He's a guy. I know Kendall is heading towards (if it isn't already in) "Camp Girls Names", but I really think it suits him. What do you guys think, would it bug you if you read it? If you think I should change it, any suggestions?

Nah, it's work fine for me. Idk if nickname are used in your book but if so using Ken here and there would help solidify that Kendall's male in your story.

Whenever I hear the name Kendall, I think of Kendall Jenner (one of the Kardashian's sisters), however I do like the name. Maybe consider changing the spelling to Kendel/Kendell, which I find slightly more masculine.

    Good luck

I think it's fine. Kendell looks slightly more masculine if you want to change the spelling, but Kendall works great, and Ken is an obviously masculine nickname if you want to use it. Good luck!

I think it's fine too! I've never met a girl named Kendall, so it wouldn't bother me (though the Kendell seems more masculine.) I was recently reading a synopsis for a novel with a girl named Garrett, so Kendell on a boy is absolutely okay!

I think it'll be just fine- I do prefer the Kendell/ Kendel spelling for a guy though.
