    Let's Rename Cinderella!

So, as you may have guessed, I'm rewriting the old tale of Cinderella... only this time from the prince's perspective.
His name is Christopher. He is a little bit of a corn ball, has dramatic tendencies, and is in the process of learning about the lives of the 'commoners' who live in his parents' kingdom. He borders on the self centered side, but truly does have a kind heart, and has almost a black and white sense of justice. I.E. something is either right or it's wrong. Something is either good or it isn't. You understand. Currently Christopher has met Cinderella before. And let's just say their initial meeting went less than stellar. He suspects that Cinderella is a fake name, and is on a sort of quest to find her true identity.

Now, I'm having trouble with renaming Cinderella.
    I know I don't want Ella.
    I don't want Ashley.
I had decided on Ashlyn, because it reminds me of ashes, or cinders. But now, it just doesn't seem to fit Cinderella's spunkier personality.
What do you think of Ember as a given name?

Important symbols in the story are...
    the apple tree
    and
    the cornflower

    Other characters:
    Benjamin- Christopher's older brother
    Edwin- a friend
Constantina- the stern queen, Christopher's mother
Maximilian- the king, Christopher's father, dotes on the queen
    Prudence and Constance- Cinderella's stepsisters
    Lucille- an older servant woman
    Hedy- a young servant girl

Thank you for reading this lengthy post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Renaming characters is hard, especially if the name has to fit with their personality.

I like Ember, but it seems a bit too... serious? For me, anyway.
I have a question - do you not want the name to end in -ella, or be Ella? Some suggestions are:

Ashby - starts with Ash- but is more unique.
Ashin - starts with Ash-, again, and to me it seems spunky.
Cecilia/Cecelia - An alliteration would be fun, formal but vintage.
Christina - more formal (all of your names are) but very cute nn and a great "coincidence" that the prince's and Cinderella's names both start with Chris-.
    Cordelia - Same as Cecelia.
Ebba - similar in sound to Ember
Henrietta - a strong name, and if your character is 'spunky', then the cool nickname Henry/Ettie applies here.
    Ingrid - spunky, formal, unusual.
Stella - can totally see Cinderella with this name.
Wilhelmina - a strong, formal (fits the style with your other names) name.

    Good luck!

I like Henrietta in the last post, and with the cornflower association I also thought of the similar-feeling Cornelia.

How about September nn Ember? I'm not sure if it "goes" with the other names in the story, but it would kinda work with the apple tree association since September is the beginning of apple season (at least where I live)
