I think Nolan James goes best with your other children's names and it's a very handsome name, IMO. I think Ely and Ian are too close to Ethan.

I love Ian, but agree it's too close to Ethan so I'll have to go with Nolan. As for Ely... I'm not sure if you're supposed to say it like Eli, or Ellie, or eely (lol).

I was afraid you'd all say that Ian and Ely were too close to Ethan! Bummer. I guess I like that sound.

So, I don't want to be yucky matchy-matchy, but I still want the names to flow together... I have to be able to easily yell all the names at once, ya know? Some of the names you have all wonderfully suggested are nice names, but I think they have a drastically different "sound" to them (Cruz, Toby, Grant, Carson) and I don't want our 3rd child to feel like the "black sheep"-- especially with a 5 year age difference and I will likely not have any more. Is that weird and I'm over-analyzing?

Here's some other names I like, but worry about the sounds going together with Ethan and Ava. What do you think?
    Tate James
    Mason James
    Davin James

I like Tate James a lot. Tate goes well with the other siblings and it's easy to pronounce, but not overly popular. I think Tate would be a great choice

Tate is a lovely name! I think that would be great with Ethan and Ava as long as you don't ever call Ava by her middle name, unless you dont mind Tate and Cate rhyming :-)

Ethan Paul and Ava Cate are gorgeous sibling names.

The way that I see it not only do you like one syllable names, you like Biblical names eg Ethan, Paul and Cate (meaning pure), and you like European inspired names eg Ava (my favourite name ever), so I think that the following names will fit this criteria.

Jared A biblical name that is not overused but v. handsome
Soren Meaning thunder and this is a Scandinavian/Danish inspired name that is perfect with Ava, eg Ava, Soren and Ethan.
Blair Isn't this a handsome name? Sibset of Ava, Blair and Ethan, very modern combo.
Blaise One syllable, French inspired and with the meaning of Light fits the Biblical criteria too, Blaise, Ethan and Ava
Niall pronounced as Nile, this has the Gaelic roots that I feel appeals to you, and is one syllable and fits beautifully eg Niall, Ava and Ethan.
Clint or if you prefer Clinton, eg Ava, Clint and Ethan
Seth He sounds familiar, even popular but seldom do you meet him, Seth and Ethan do sound similar so this may have to go into a middle name spot
Levi, Biblical, one syllable, On trend, mirrors the 'v' in Ava, sibset Levi, Ava, Ethan, seems like a good match to me
Joshua nn Josh I like him a lot and I think he fits too, Ethan, Joshua and Ava
Kristian in this name you can choose the nn of Ian or Kris both easy to call out and fits in Biblically and with the European Ava, ie Kristian, Ethan and Ava.
Hunter I like this one, Hunter appeals to me so much and works beautifully eg Ethan, Hunter and Ava
Teague ie Teeg, He has Gaelic roots, is one syllable and fits a modern boy, I like the combo of Teague Hunter too, sibset Teague, Ethan and Ava.
Jonah a popular choice and don't you love Jonah, Ethan and Ava together?

Let me know if you like any of these.

    Combos
    Jared Oliver
    Soren Jorge
    Blair Denham (denim)
    Blaise Elliott
    Niall Davin
    Clint Nathaniel
    Levi Jamison
    Kristian Isaac
    Hunter Tate
    Teague Hunter
    Jonah Reid
