    Cool Make me a girls' list based on my boys' list!

    After getting some awesome advice on another thread I've revamped my list of favorite boys' names. I'm in love with all of them. Problem is, my girls' list leaves me cold. So I'm starting over! Can you think of some girls names I will love based on the following boys names?

    Thaddeus
    Roscoe
    Atlas
    Wallace
    Magnus
    Rafferty
    August
    Marlowe
    Ferdinand
    Everett
    Waldo
    Baxter
    Erasmus
    Felix

    My two favorites girls names are Marigold and Eloise -- though only Marigold is giving me the warm fuzzies right now.

    I'll do my best to respond to every reply! Thank you, Berries!

    Marigold and Eloise are very nice!

    Along the same lines as Eloise, do you like Eliora?

    Some other options:
    Azalea
    Zephyr
    Geneva
    Hazel
    Althea
    Meira

    I'm not sure if these would be your style or not -- you've got a great variety of boys names on your list!

    Some very fun first-name prospects here!

    "The Baby Name Wizard" book [2009] by Laura Wattenberg includes computer-generated sisters and brothers for its featured names.

    Perhaps this will help a bit ...

    Atlas' sisters: N/A
    August's sisters: Alma, Helena, Olive, Honor, Mathilda
    Baxter's sisters: N/A
    Eloise's sisters: Clementine, Harriet, Leonie, Geneva, Mathilde
    Erasmus' sisters: N/A
    Everett's sisters: Genevieve, Cora, Adele, Estella, Antonia
    Felix's sisters: Cleo, Genevieve, Zella, Nina, Avis
    Ferdinand's sisters: Philomena, Magdalene, Hester, Cornelia, Jemima
    Magnus' sisters: Linnea, Thora, Sigrid, Ailsa, Ione
    Marigold's sisters: N/A
    Marlowe's sisters: Audra, Harlow, Edie, Laine, Janna
    Rafferty's sisters: N/A
    Roscoe's sisters: Mabel, Tillie, Lola, Florida, Opal
    Thaddeus' sisters: Catalina, Aurora, Avis, Valentina, Damaris
    Waldo's sisters: N/A
    Wallace's sisters: Harriet, Marian, Sybil, Willa, Muriel

    Atlas = N/A
    August = "ladies and gentlemen" name
    Baxter = N/A
    Eloise = "ladies and gentlemen" name
    Erasmus = N/A
    Everett = "antique charm" name
    Felix = "exotic traditional" name
    Ferdinand = "ladies and gentlemen" and "exotic traditional" name
    Magnus = "exotic traditional" name
    Marigold = N/A
    Marlowe = "surfer '60s" name
    Rafferty = N/A
    Roscoe = "porch sitters" name
    Thaddeus = "exotic traditional" name
    Waldo = N/A
    Wallace = "ladies and gentlemen" name

    P.S. "N/A" above means a name isn't featured in the book.

    Holy crap. I asked, and y'all DELIVERED!

    Names I LIKE but wouldn't use:

    Maris, Rosemary, Coralie, Ottilie, Romilly, Sorcha, Cleo/Clio (wish I could find a long form for this! I love it as a nn but hate Cleopatra), Magdalene, Freya, Claudia, Florence, Francesca, Coraline, Matilda, Scarlett, Linden, Elodie, Sabina, Cordelia, Celeste, Eliora, Genevieve, Linnea, Lola (maybe as a nn), Marian

    I LOVE and would use:

    Sylvie, Odette, Magnolia, Thessaly, Xanthe, Odessa, Iris, Alice, Saskia, Juniper, Zephyr (probably as a nn for Zephyrine), Geneva, Hazel (though I worry about popularity), Clementine, Harriet, Willa

    I LOVE but don't know if I'd be brave enough to use:

    Hero, Isis, Minerva, Artemis, Lilith, Arcadia, Mabel, Valentine

    In terms of style:

    I like names with two or more syllables. I like nature and place names. I like names with 's' and 'l' sounds. I like names that are uncommon and eclectic.

    Please keep the suggestions coming! This has been so helpful.
