FINALIST GIRLS: Feedback wanted!
The Johnson sisters: Quirky and confident; spunky and spirited?
Excitedly preparing to fulfill a longtime dream of adopting a vintage farm-houseful of children [U.S. residents who share this dream, see signature below]. After careful contemplation and extra experimentation, I am now certain that stout, stodgy vintage names with quirk and spunk are most my style. Herebelow, I present to you the finalist firsts with prospective middles. Would you advise doubling up the middles or pairing them differently?

Beatrix Hazel is very nice.
Cordelia Margaret is lovely
Guinevere Astrid seems too up in the clouds. Maybe Guinevere Josephine.
Matilda Jane is very pretty but I hate the nn Maude
Nora is beautiful but I don't like Francine. Nora Clover? Nora Edith?
Ruby is also gorgeous, but I'm so so about Marcella. Ruby Evelyn? Ruby Amaryllis?Livy/Lucy : Geneva/Gwen : Coralie/Alice : Noelle/Eve
Eli/Bennett : Jude/Zane: Luke/Leo : Levi/Phineas

You have some lovely combos. Here are my ratings. In my opinion, the last five combos (see below) seem weaker and lack the vibrancy of the top ten.
Top Ten Combos
1 Matilda Jane
2 Sybil Rosamund
3 Agatha Prudence
4 Lucinda Maeve
5 Lavinia Florence
6 Eloise Mabel
7 Beatrix Hazel
8 Cordelia Margaret
9 Harriet Josephine
10 Winifred Martha
Remaining Combo Ratings
11 Isadora Maxine
12 Ruby Marcella
13 Nora Francine
14 Guinevere Astrid
15 Myrtle AnastasiaAll the best,
Mischa.

Wow, what a huge and amazing undertaking! Best of luck!!
01. AGATHA Prudence....Agatha has grown on me in a big way lately, its lovely. Prudence is certainly nice, but Im glad its in the middle instead of leaving a girl hanging with the nn Prue..
02. BEATRIX Hazel...so sweet and spunky, this just sparkles for me
03. CORDELIA Margaret....I knew Cordelia had to be in here somewhere!
04. ELOISE Mabel....love
05. GUINEVERE Astrid....I dont exactly like Astrid here. Just feels so modern next to the others (even though i know it isnt).
06. HARRIET Josephine...Love
07. ISADORA Maxine...Maxine is meh by comparison.
08. LAVINIA Florence...beautiful
09. LUCINDA Maeve...awww! Would you call her Lucy ever?
10. MATILDA Jane, nickname: Maude...prefer Tillie, but love either
11. MYRTLE Anastasia....Myrtle as I think Ive said before is one old lady name I wish would take off. Its just so fun. Anastasia Im not so keen on...
12. NORA Francine....not as spectacular to me as some of your other combos, but like enough
13. RUBY Marcella...love Ruby
14. SYBIL Rosamund...I think I'd prefer to see Rosamund up front, Sybil is underwhelming to me
15. WINIFRED Martha...Winnie? I really like it
Combos with names I was meh on...some from your maybes and some thrown in...
Isadora Gladys
Isadora Ruth
Isadora Minerva
Guinevere Bess
Guinevere Edith

Thank you for your kind words, Katie Dawn! Any name-pairing ideas for Clover
?
Thanks so much for your input, Sugar Baby!
Thanks so much for your feedback, Miss Hoppy!
Your honest feedback is much appreciated, Kala Way! Any other more "grounded" middles for Guinevere [shorter than Josephine] that you might suggest
?
I genuinely appreciate your input, Mischa! Any ideas for making 11 to 15 stronger and more vibrant
?
Thank you so much for your very kind words and thoughtful suggestions, Lineska! Guinevere Esther and Myrtle Louisa are my very favorites. And, yes, Lucinda's nickname would be Lucy, and Winifred's would be Winnie
.

My favorites are...
02. BEATRIX Hazel
03. CORDELIA Margaret
05. GUINEVERE Astrid
09. LUCINDA Maeve
10. MATILDA Jane, nickname: Maude (Can't say I like Maude, though. Tilda or Matty is much better for me)
Off your additional list I love Clover, Fern, Juniper, Minerva, Olive, Opal, Verbena, Vivian and Zelda.

Some beautiful names!
I think Harriet Josephine is brilliant (and not just because I have a daughter named Harriet Franceszka
), I also love Matilda Jane, but I think you are wasting it if you call her Maude. I love the name Maude but Matilda is great, so call her Matilda. Agatha Prudence, Beatrix Hazel and Cordelia Margaret are all fabulous. I also love Eloise Mabel.
After that, I think the rest aren't as great. Guinevere seems out of step with the rest of the names--too King Arthur and not enough Anne Shirley? Isadora--again, sounds less farm girl and more boarding school. Ruby is is great, but Myrtle seems a little too much for me.
From your additional list, I LOVE Edith and Olive. Beautiful. You should use my girls' names (not that I'm partial)--Miriam and Emeline. They are also lovely and old-fashioned. Or Clementine, or Adeline, or Caroline. All classic and beautiful.
Good luck!
