When did you start?
Was wondering when you started potty training? And what worked best for you? My daughter is 13 months, I know she's still young but I'm just preparing myself for the near future

Most pediatricians will recommend you start trying around 24 months. My son is 2 1/2, and we're still in the process (keep in mind it's a long process). I've heard the average age is 29 months for girls and 31 months for boys.

I know I was fully potty trained by the time my brother was born when I was 2 and 1/2 but most kids I know seem older, especially boys.

I'm not even close with my boys, but a friend said her daughter was trained by 18 months. Another friend had a 3 year old who wasn't trained...

Here's a good "readiness" checklist
http://www.babycenter.com/0_potty-tr...cklist_4384.bc
My oldest was day potty trained around 25 months, before her sister arrived. (Night training took several more months). She was accident free until her little sister arrived (when she was 28 months) but I think that's normal. It was alot of changes. It only lasted a few weeks until we got into a better routine. DD #2 was potty trained around the 2 yr mark also. I'm hoping to start with the twins a little earlier (not to push them-- I'll use their readiness cues) because we're expecting again and I really don't want a ton of kids in diapers, but it's not the end of the world either.Wife to one great guy
