I too think Asher Patrick Gray is handsome, but since you've decided it isn't the one, I played around with the other names you mentioned and came up with a few new combos. To my mind, the thing that makes Asher Patrick Gray a little bland is not the style, which I think is perfect, but the sound. Asher and Patrick have the same rhythm and number of syllables, and the vowel sounds are similar. Those things make "Asher Patrick" faintly boring to my ear when spoken aloud. So in my new combos, even though I understand it's the name Gray you're more interested in losing, I broke up the "Asher Patrick" combo:
Asher Caspian Gray (this doesn't lose Gray, but I really like it! It has the spunk that Asher Patrick Gray is slightly lacking, IMO.)
Asher Samuel Zane
Asher Samuel Gray
Asher Zane Beckett
Asher Zane Patrick (maybe this could be a winner?)
Asher Leopold Gray
If you dislike 'em all, that's OK. I just thought they might help break the boredom. Best wishes!"He telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names."
Psalm 147:4
Shaking things up a bit:
Robin Maccabee ~ Bartholomew Prentice ~ Viggo Matthias
Elnora Fairlight ~ Narcissa Rose ~ Sylvie Magdalen
Triples for fun:
Lucian Barnaby Reuel ~ Gillian Mary Lavinia ~ William Wythe Taliesin ~ Viola Guinevere Loveday ~ George Wystan Llyr

Thanks for the suggestions! I'd actually like to keep Gray more than Patrick--Gray's honoring, while Patrick is not. I have really loved Asher Patrick, but I'm willing to lose it if I can find something I adore. I had actually considered Asher Zane Patrick, haha, that was my next back-up choice. Someone (@emiliaj, I think?) had suggested I continue the "J" and "C" initials that I have in my Caleb, Everett, and Jack combos, and I really liked that, as a way to honor Jesus Christ/God, but I couldn't really find a "J" and "C" name I liked with Asher. I liked Conrad as a second MN, but I couldn't really find a three syllable "J" name to go between Asher and Conrad that I really liked (since something like Asher Jonah Conrad "Roberts" is way too monotonous for me!)--Jameson and Josiah are names I like, but I didn't like them between Asher and Conrad. Although Asher _____ Conrad is an option I could play around with more. Conrad was the name of the street I grew up on, so I love it for all the memories of family and childhood it brings up. I also liked the idea of using the initials L. B. for the MNs, in honor of my grandfather (L. B. Smith--no full name, just two initials), but I couldn't really find a full name I liked for that, either (the closest I came was Asher Linus Benjamin, Asher Leo Benjamin, or Asher Louis (said Loo-ee, not loo-iss) Benjamin, but I didn't love any of them enough to use them).
Asher Leopold Gray might be an option, though! I actually really like it. It would take the first half of my grandfather's name (L) and the first part of my grandmother's MN (Grace), so I like it was a way to honor them both.
I'll have to think about it, but Asher Leopold was my back-up before I decided I loved Asher Patrick, so it could be a definite possibility! It has that style most of my combos have, too, I really like it.
I had also liked the idea of Asher Jonas George (Asher Jonah George?) and Asher Noah George... I'm still playing around with those as possibilities, now that Asher Patrick Gray is out, although I am pretty sure I liked Avery Noah George and Avery Jonas George more than both of them...
I also have realized I quite like "E" names with Asher--Asher Elliot, Asher Elijah, Asher Edmund, Asher Ezekiel, Asher Ezra, etc.--so I'm toying with one of those with the MN Conrad or Gray, or maybe even Zane, as well, all of which would be honoring.
@avesnames - yes, I had considered Asher Finnegan, early on! I still like it but I don't know, something about it seems off to me.Ashley

I ADORE:
Asher Caspian Grey
Asher Everett Grey
Asher Willoughby (nn. Will) Grey
Asher Sirius Grey
Asher Sebastian Grey
Asher Dorian Grey (only if you like the novel. close enough, eh?)
Asher Rupert Grey
Asher (Alfred or Alphonse for the nn. Alfie) Grey
I agree with some of the others Asher and Patrick together sounds to similiar both in vowels and syllabels. Although, it really is a handsome name.
