WDYT of Vivileen?
Recently I made up a name - Vivileen. It is pronounced 'vih-vih-leen', and comes from Vivian and Kathleen/Lina. What do you think? Do you like it and which spelling do you prefer (if any)?
Other spellings could be: Vivileen, Vivilene, Viviline, Vivilean.
EDIT: Means 'pure life' taken from Kathleen and Vivian.Last edited by deathbarbie24; July 7th, 2012 at 01:40 AM.

To be honest, I think it's ugly. Sorry! I tend to not like made up names because I have the feeling if it's a good smush it's been done before and is now a legit name. Rosabelle, for example. Good made up names tend to have one part classic name, one part suffix.

First thought, VALVOLINE - and all the red-neckery that comes with that. And I'm allowed to say it, because I'm a fair bit red-neck myself!

Wow, some harsh feedback. It does sound made-up to me at first glance, but it certainly does combine two beautiful sounds. I think it could grow on me. Or, you could give the proper name of Vivian Kathleen, and then call her Vivileen, just like in Gone with the Wind with Scarlett's little sister: Caroline Irene = "Carreen"
I personally think that if you TRULY LOVE a name, you should use it, no matter how many other people don't like it. I know a lot of people think the names I like are over the top, but guess what? I'd rather use a rare, "over the top" name than have yet another Liam or Ava, so there ;P
pet peeves: nicknames as given names; unconventional spellings; masculine names on girls
not-so-guilty pleasures: five-syllable girls' names; virtue and nature names; over-the-top antique names for boys
(if i repeat name suggestions in a thread, it's because i like them! no apologies here for repeats of great names!

It reminds me of the Velveteen Rabbit. Not sure that is a good or bad thing.

I don't think it's bad at all. I just met someone named Neveen (nuh-VEEN), which you might like.
