    Oskar?

What do you think of Oskar spelt the German way to honour my heritage. Opinions?

It can work. I know a teenaged Oskar.

I think it works. Nice to honor the heritage and as someone who is German I like it!

I recognized it as German right away, also Oskar is having a huge come back in Germany right now (jumped from 63 to 31 last year).
Yeah, I like it! Does it look like a trendy made-up spelling to Americans?

I think you can do the k if your last name is Germanic or at least not too American-sounding. :-). Otherwise, I honestly would think it was someone trying to come up with a clever spelling (even though I did recognize its German). K's are cool, though. If we choose Erik as a name, we will spell it with a k and our daughter is Katherine.

I think Oskar is a great choice! (and as an American I don't think it looks made up at all.)

I love Oskar! I have always loved the German spelling, and I think it's a great way to honor your heritage. I like the association to Oskar Schindler, too.

    Good luck!
