Maris is gorgeous! I think it's stylish, not clunky. It's a good, solid name that will age well.

Oooooo, really? Tell about your niece! What kind of kid/girl is she? What thoughts has she shared with you about her name? I'd love to hear more about someone with life experience with the name Maris.
Thanks, jessamynb!

I like Maris. I think it does have an "upper-crust" type feel, but I think it's rather simple and, if I'm perfectly honest, I like it for qualities that other people seem to dislike it for - it's clunkiness, oddness and masculinity. Despite all of that, I also think it's sweet, which is another nice quality if you don't like the ones I do!
But altogether, I really like Maris. I think it's absolutely lovely, and I'd certainly go for it."One can survive everything, nowadays, except death, and live down everything except a good reputation." - Oscar Wilde.
