    Ideas for Girls Names

We're TTC, and I am at a loss for girls names. I love very few and keep changing my mind about whether they'd sound good with our sons name Archer Thomas. Ln is Fri3nd.
I love Penelope, Bianca, Cordelia, Beatrice, and Millicent nn Millie. But for some reason or another I'm just not sold on any of the names. We all have 6 letter first names and -ie or -y nick names, and I'd like to try and continue that. We don't want any A names because we don't want to get "stuck" in the future.
Right now we're thinking Paxton John if it's a boy, but I'm getting cold feet about that name choice too. I like Archer because it's an old name that sounds new. Paxton seems to not have as much history, but that's a tid bit of info to help with my girls naming style as well.
We also named our son before Archer was top 1000, so I'm on the fence about popularity. You never know if the name you pick will become popular. But then again I'd like her to feel like we picked a special name just for her.
Last thing, my husbands name starts with an A, so we chose an A name. Mine starts with an S. He'd like to keep this tradition and use my initials for the next child. He likes Skylar, but I'm not sold. And I don't particularly like S names.
    PHEW! Tall order!? Help Berries!!

This feels a little like a logic puzzle, but here are some thoughts, maybe something will jump out or give you an idea.

    S names with -ie:
Sarah nn Sadie or just Sadie
Sarah nn Sally or just Sally

    6 letter S names:
    Sabina
    Sierra
    Stella (Stelly?)
    Simone (I love Simone!)
Sylvia (nn Sylvie if you wanted)

    6 letter -ie non-S names:
    Hattie
Audrey (maybe too popular for you)
    Winona nn Winnie
    Bailey
Cecily (Cece or just full name..)

6 letter S names with -ie:
    Stacey
    Sydney/Sidney
Sylvie (this might be my favorite for you!)
    Sallie

I also love Eloise (Ellie) or Daisy for you, even though they only hit one of your traditions each. Good luck!

    Thanks for your wonderful suggestions!!!

    S names with -ie:
Sarah nn Sadie or just Sadie - SIL's fn, and hubby veto'd Sadie and Sally is his cousin. His mothers side has 8 uncles/aunts WOW, lots of cousins names nixed
Sarah nn Sally or just Sally

    6 letter S names:
Sabina - Feel like its missing
    Sierra- Popular in our area/nms
Stella (Stelly?) - brothers dogs name
Simone (I love Simone!) - nms
Sylvia (nn Sylvie if you wanted) - LOVE Silvyn but hubby veto'd Silvyn and Sylvia because of an association issue

    6 letter -ie non-S names:
Hattie - Had Harriet nn Hattie and Hettie on our list but think Harriet may be too stuffy, on the fence!
Audrey (maybe too popular for you) - exactly beautiful name though!
Winona nn Winnie - On the fence list Love Winnie nn, not sure about Winona though
Bailey- Too many in the preschools around here
Cecily (Cece or just full name..)- Family association/hubby veto'd (I've had a HUGE list haha)

6 letter S names with -ie:
    Stacey- Too 80's
    Sydney/Sidney- my name
Sylvie (this might be my favorite for you!) - Love it... and am actually rethinking running it across hubby, maybe just maybe
    Sallie- cousins names

Love Eloise but don't like nn Ellie. Ellora was on our list and I forget why I took it off.
Daisy is my best friends niece but I love it! Love flower names in general and had Lotus on the list for a very long time.

Some other of my faves hubby veto'd - Odessa, Asia, Margaret, Majorie, Elena, Daphne, he mostly says mine choice are too "old lady" or too "harry potter"
Some we're lukewarm on - Farrah, Violet, Clover
Hubby's ideas - Carla, Skylar, Penny, Millie (but we have a new baby cousin name Amelie, so I don't know if it works anymore)

Thanks again!! You're very much on the right path, we've just been through a ton of books and tons of options over the last few months. I get a bit obsessive until I feel confident in a few choices, but then break it all down again.

bump for more ideas! Sylvie is actually on my list now, I'd love more ideas from you berries!!!

You can't drop using the S and 6 letters. (Although Sylvie worked for both!)

Also, my name is Sydney would the spelling Sylvey look too off or would you pronounce it differently?? I thought it would be a neat way too bond us, but it also makes it look very very similar. Thoughts??

    My recommendation is ...

Archer [and] Sylvia [nicknames: Archie and Sylvie]

... six-letter old names that sound new and have complementary meanings of "bowman" and "from the forest".

P.S. Archie and Sylvia are both "Edna" names [Nameberry term].
