    Elle- stand alone or nickname?

So I've fallen in love with the name Elle! I think it's so cute, classy and girly! I'm still at odds over whether or not it should be used as a nickname or if it can stand alone as a first name. What are your opinions and what are some middle names you would put with Elle? I would honestly have no problem using it as a first name, as I've heard FAR worse lately! Also my iPhone automatically capitalizes Elle so that has to count for something, right??

So far for middle names I have:
    Elle Caroline
    Elle Madelyn
    Elle Katherine- probably my fav
    Elle Catherine
    Elle Vivienne

Actually if it was Elle Catherine then it would be Elle C, which sounds better than Elle K...

Also what are some names that can be shortened to get the nickname Elle? Noelle, Eleanor, Ellen, etc...

I like Elle! I like it as a standalone name just as much as a nn, which is rare for me.

I really like Elle Catherine and Elle Caroline... I really love Elle Rebecca and Elle Francesca, too.

I love Eleanor to get to Elle, what about:

Elizabeth/Elisabeth (also Eliza, Elise, Elisa, Elsa, Elisabetta, etc.)
    Isabelle/a
    Arielle/a
    Elena
    Eleni
    Helena/Helene
    Eloise
    Elina
    Estelle/Stella/Estella/Estrella
Gabrielle/a (or just Brielle/a... way too nicknamey for me, but I know a lot of people like it)

Or, technically, I would think you could use any "L" name, like Lark, Liliana/Lillian/Lily, Louisa/Louise, Luella, Lucille, Lucy, Lucia(na), Lisette, Luna, Lyra, Lila, Lana, Leda, etc., etc.

    Good luck!

I like Elle best by itself. I think a longer name nn Elle/Ellie is overdone.

But if you're set on finding a longer name, how about Elowen or Elspeth?

I really like Elle! It's so elegant and svelte. My favorite combo from your list is Elle Catherine.

Elle works great on its own, so there's no reason to find a longer name, but it does work as a nickname for any name that starts with El- or contains a prominent -el or -elle.

I'd like to add Eliana and Elsa. Elisabeth's still probably my favorite though.

    I think it's also nice as a stand-alone name

I like Elle! I used to hate it, but I've come around to it. I think Elle Catherine is lovely (my preferred spelling is Catharine), and I love Elle Caroline, too.

I like Elle all by itself or used as a nickname. No matter what you decide to do I think it's a great choice! I have a student named Eloise who likes to go by El. Pretty much any El- name would work, or any -el/-elle names.
