32 Weeks and still trying to pick a girls name for b/g twins. Help!
My husband and I are expecting b/g twins this summer. Our last name is 2 syllables and ends with -er.
We are partial to vintage/classic names. In our family, we tend to shorten names to one syllable even if they're long names (i.e., Evelyn is "Ev"). We love the name Jack Henry for a boy. We can't seem to agree on a girl's name.
Here's our short list:
Jack Henry & Lillian Alice or Lillian Jane (short name = Lil)
Jack Henry & Eliza Jane ("Elle")
Jack Henry & Caroline Anne (one syllable nn for Caroline??)
Jack Henry & Molly ____middle? (one syllable nn for Molly??)
Jack Henry & Vivian ____ middle? (Viv)
We also like the names Jane and Rose, but neither goes well with Jack. Jack and Jane sounds too match-y. Jack and Rose were the main characters from Titanic. (I don't want to hear Titanic references every time we introduce them!) We could change Jack's name to William (Will), but Jack is a running favorite.
Would welcome all feedback/suggestions. Thanks!

I like Jack Henry & Eliza Jane the best together. Both are classics with a lityle spunk to the, imo.
I like Jack & Molly together too. Maybe Molls as a nn or May since Molly and May are both nns of Mary?
As for mns for Molly I automatically think of:
Molly Claire
Molly June
Molly Rose
Molly Jane
Molly Kate
Molly Grace
I would only change Jack to William if your love for the name Rose or Jane is more than your love for the name Jack, otherwise I'd use.one of them as an mn.Violet Gray
Sad name-obsessed teenager and aspiring writer
GIRLS: Georgiana Rose, Josephine Ruby, Kate Evangeline, Eliza Rose, Anna Caroline
BOYS: Jack Henry, Oliver James, Leo Alexander, Finn Michael, Samuel Reid

I don't think I'd shorten Molly at all or Caroline beyond Callie (my fave) or Carrie (also ok) but I've heard Carolines called Caz, here in Oz where zeds just happen for nicknames somehow. (Caz, Shaz, Baz, Gaz - people I know named Caroline, Sharon, Barry, and Gavin...)
Jack and Molly or Jack and Callie sound good. If we MUST do one syllable NNs, Jack and Lil sound good together. I do like Lillian.

Eliza or Molly, I prefer Molly
Don't think either needs a nn as they are already shortened versions of other names. If I had to I'd problem go with Liza (too many Elle's and Ellie's) and Mae
mn for Molly
Louise
Elise
Claire
FYI: As far as Titanic, you know about "The Unsinkable Molly Brown", right? But the connection is not as obvious as Jack & Rose
Shea * Ashley * Jade * Azure * Shiah * Greer * Blaise * Pallas
Lotus * Tallulah * Noor * Fox * Jasper * Linden * Arden * Adair

I like the sound of Eliza Jane with Jack Henry; it makes me think of Almanzo Wilder's sister from Little House on the Prairie (I love LHOTP, so that was my immediate association, but I'm not sure that many would make that connection). I also think Jack and Elle work well together.
Actually, I really like all of your name choices, but I think Eliza Jane has the best flow.
1 syllable nickname suggestions:
Caroline- A close friend of mine with this name goes by "Care" around family and close friends.
Molly- This might be a stretch, but I think "Moll" or "Molls" could work. Or, what about calling her "M/Em"?
What about using Jane and Rose as mns for Molly or Vivian:
Molly Rose
Molly Jane
Vivian Rose
Vivian Jane
