It looks like you were trying to give all your girls a "y" in their names and now you are stopping that trend with Pearl. Was that something important to you??
Madelyn, Alayna, Clayre are look modern to me and don't mesh with Pearl that well, imo

Thanks for all the imput! geauxtee we did not do the Y on purpose we just loved each name, as a matter of fact Clayre was going to be Clare until my mother in law informed us she had a great aunt spelled Clayre so we went with the family spelling
I was 100% going to use a y for the fourth but can not find a name that we love or even agree on for that matter that has a Y in it
I have decided loving the name is more important than the letters it contains so we started looking at others. Still not sure if Pearl is it but at least we both agree that we like it.

Pearl is pretty! It's old, but still sounds fresh. I'm glad you're considering the first and last name alone without the middle. My parents didn't do that. My name is quite nice when the middle is included, but my first and last are difficult to say together! That being said, I think Pearl Olson is fine. It looks very pretty on paper, at least, and it's not too hard to pronounce.
I don't have or want any kids. I just love names!
Top 10: Andrea, Chelsea, Tara, Brooke, Alexandra, Nathaniel, Cody, Grant, Alexander, Graham
I also love Russian and Irish names, as well as the names of many cities and countries.

I think it will help your daughter to know you chose a name you love and feel is right for her, rather than a name you forced yourself to settle for in order to maintain a pattern. In a very real sense, you are maintaining the same pattern -- of choosing a name you love best for each daughter.
Mother of three teenagers: (1) Daniel Glen, (2) Timothy Austin, and (3) Rebecca Jane... all middle names honor family... 3rd generation mn Jane. (A second girl would have been Susanna Eve and a third boy, maybe Isaac...)
