Boy: Use your, your mother's, your grandmother's, even your great-grandmother's maiden name as a first name.

Girl: Pick a name. Any name. Same as above, but put the maiden name in the middle spot.

Using maiden names is a big southern tradition, though I hate seeing them as first names for a girl.

If you have a daughter, Mary is her first name. Her middle name can be another first name -- such as Mary Alice, Mary Jill, Mary Jo, Mary Grace -- or your maiden name, your mother's maiden name, etc -- such as Mary Whatley, Mary Bradford, Mary Marsden, etc. Or you could just have Grace as your middle -- Sarah Grace, Cora Grace, etc. Lastly, you have your Britnis, Neveahs, Renays, Lenays, Tiffinis, ad nauseam.

For guys, Confederate general names are big. Forrests, Bedfords, Nathans, Jebs, etc. Avoid at all cost Grant or Lincoln. Your kid will not survive the South. Take a regular name like Trevor and spell it wrong -- Trever, for example. John is Jhon. Jerome is Jerone. You get the picture.

Thinking of Reba- I would say Barbara Jean, Lori-Ann, Cheyenne, and for a boy Brock.

What part of the South are you in?
