    Red face Elizabeth Jae?

DH just suggested this name out of the blue last night. We both love Elizabeth, but nixed it because I wanted to use Josephine to honor my grandmother, and we thought the name would be too long. DH's logic is that we still get the "J" in there for my grandma (he doesn't like Jo). We're still leaning towards Emilia, but I wanted to see what you all thought since DH seemed so excited about his idea.

So any thoughts? Could I get away with no NN or the NN Elle/Ellie? We're open to any shorter versions of Josephine instead of Jae.

    Thank you so much!

Elizabeth Josie sounds adorable to me!
J'adore les noms des filles françaises...
    Élinor ~ Zéphyrine ~ Alice ~ Agnès ~ Noémie ~ Ninon ~ Marguerite ~ Ariane ~ Euphrasie ~ Clémence ~ Juliette

    And classic boys' names.
    James ~ Christopher ~ Alexander ~ William ~ Anthony ~ Joseph ~ Robert ~ Aaron ~ Nathaniel ~ Jude ~ Ezra

I like it. Ellie is a cute nickname but there are lots of Ellies. Elizabeth would be more distinctive.
Mom of Paul, Clare, Mark, Katharine, and James. Hoping for future blessings.
    Boy: Andrew Lawrence
Girl: Obsessed with Theresa Jane but considering Grace Elizabeth

I love Elizabeth, but Jae feels trendy - Elizabeth Josie is super sweet. Josette might be nice, too.

I like Elizabeth Jae - other short "J" names could be Elizabeth Jane, Elizabeth Jean (really like this one). I prefer Elizabeth over Elle, and Elle over Ellie.

Definitely, DO give her a middle name. I've known of several people (young and old) without middle names who all felt very cheated and saddened by that. Elizabeth Jae is fine and a nice idea. However, the letter N is in Josephine too, so Jane would do an even better job of representing Josephine and would not result in misspellings.
Mother of three teenagers: (1) Daniel Glen, (2) Timothy Austin, and (3) Rebecca Jane... all middle names honor family... 3rd generation mn Jane. (A second girl would have been Susanna Eve and a third boy, maybe Isaac...)

I think you should stick with Josephine as a middle name and not water it down. I don't mind the long names together ("work that alphabet"....saw that on a name blog somewhere), but I also really like Emilia Josephine together. Lovely!
