My name is Dha.na (Dahna), my brothers name is Dustin and my half sisters name is Fen.ja (Fenya)-Henr.iette. (Germans)

It is a horrible sibset. I got a made up spelling because my dad found "Dana" to be "too short". The only thing our names have in common is, that they never were really popular in Germany (I like that, cause that way they don't get dated) and all ranked around 150 on the popularity list the year we were born (Dha.na in the Dana spelling). The only name that is losing popularity now is Dustin, so his name will maybe seem dated in 10 years.

I don't like the name Dustin, mainly because Justin is Germany's Nevaeh and so Dustin has a trashy sound (developed within the last 10 years, so my parents were a little unlucky). But he really likes his name as he likes trendy names.

I'm not crazy about the sound of Fen.ja, but it's a name people usually like, cause it isn't complicated, still rare and has ties to our Northern heritage. Hen.riette is my gradmas name and I envy my sister for that because my grandma is the greatest. She got very sick 1 oder 2 years before my sister was born (she's 16 years younger than me), so that's the reason for her name. Since my grandma was fine when I was little, there just was no chance I'd gotten it.

I also envy that she has two names and I got only one. But that again is because of the major gap between us. In the eightees kids just didn't get middle names whereas today about 40-50% get a middle name.

Although the spelling of my name is made up, I like it. If I was able to chose I'd have a less feminine name, but I think Dha.na isn't too frilly or girly, so it's fine. I even like the "h" in my name. People usually assume that is has some interesting origin and I found out this name does exist in this variation in india and means "rich". So it's not that bad (though I still prefer to see it as a name with irish or scandinavian origin cause that makes much more sense for me as a European, blond girl...)

Oh forgot the story to our names and that won't improve the sibset: My brother named after Dustin Hoffman, cause my mum liked him so much. Also she was working for an American army base in Germany before we were born and apparently realized she likes english names there.
My name was taken out of movie credits (so probably an American movie as well since Dana is so much more common there). I hate that I don't know the movie or the actress or make up artist or whatever.
