Honoring loved ones
I'm TTC (could be pg right now... Have to wait a couple days to know!)
I'm having a hard time with girls names. I have 4 people I want to honor but I'm not sure what to do. Do I save some names in case of future babies? Do I try to smoosh all the names into one? I'm not sure about double middle names, is it pretentious or cute? Is it better to use a fn I love or one that honors someone?
Name suggestions? People I want to honor...
Julie Ann (MIL) thought about using Juliet or Julia or Julianne
Lisa Karen (my mom and me) thought about using Elise or Elisabeth
Anne (best friend who died last year)
Ruth (grandmother, will be passing on a ruby ring to my first daughter)
Names we love...
Rosemary (Rosie)
Eve
Alice
Nora

I really love Eve and Alice from your list! They're both very sweet and timeless. Maybe you could do Alice Juliana Rue/Eve Juliana Kate, something like that? Juliana for Julie Ann and Anne, Rue for Ruth, Kate for Karen? Or even Alice Juliana Ruth/Alice Juliana Ruby.
I'm a big fan of two MNs, personally, and I plan to give all my children two MNs, but it's really up to the person. It doesn't sound like it's too much of a hassle, and I would do it for very sentimental reasons. If you wanted to honor them all in one, you could do something like Juliana Ruby Kate and honor all three in one fell swoop, but if you plan on having more children, I would save at least one (maybe even two) for the second baby. I really love the idea of Eve Juliana or Alice Juliana if you only want to do one MN (or even Juliana Ruby/Juliana Rue/Juliana Ruth/Juliana Kate, if you really want to go down the honoring route).
Good luck!Ashley

I think it would be nice to save some names in case you have more girls down the road. That all of your girls will have that family tie in their names. I'm pretty neutral on double middle names. I don't do them, but sometimes they sound good and other times they don't. So, I think that's just a matter of what will sound the best to you and your husband. We use names of loved ones as middle names for our kids, and then we pick names we love for the first names. You have a really nice list of names that you love, so I would suggest using a name you love as a first name and then choosing one or two names to honor your family members for middle names.

I'm not a fan of honoring so I would say go with one you love, I'm also not a fan of double middles since it seems pointless.... but that's my opinion. I would save names for future children if you plan on having more.
You could use Ruby for Ruth, might be cute since she's giving your daughter a ruby ring and then get two people:
Ruby Anne, Ruby Juliet, Ruby Elise, Ruby Elisabeth, Alice Ruby, Nora Ruby......
If you use Anne/Ann/Anna, it seems like you can get two people that way too since that would be your MIL and BF:
Rosemary Anne, Nora Anne, Anna Eve, Anna Rose.....
You can combine Ruth and Anne to get Ruthanne:
Eve Ruthanne, Alice Ruthanne, Nora Ruthanne....
You can combine Ruth and Julie to get Ruthie:
Eve Ruthie, Nora Ruthie, Alice Ruthie....
Also, Julianne combines your MIL and you BF, so you could use that too:
Eve Julianne, Nora Julianne, Alice Julianne, Rose Julianne
Some other combos for what you have:
Rosemary Juliet
Nora Ruth
Alice Elisabeth
Alice Juliet
Eve Elisabeth
Hope that helps!Our Cats:

My suggestion is to pick two special people to honor, and not worry about smooshing them all into one name, it might prevent you from picking the name you like best!
(not the biggest fan of the multiple middles, but if they're simple and meaningful i think it's nice)
Rosemary Ruby
Alice Anne
Anna Ruby
Nora Julianne
Eve Lisette
Rosalie Anne
Nora Ruby Anne
Hope this helps a little!

I agree with saving some names for future children, but Julianne honors Julie Ann and Anne. Annelise honors Anne and Lisa Karen. I don't know of any way to combine in Ruth, but you could use Ruby as a first name, if you like that. Of your favorite names, my favorite is Rosemary but Alice is also very sweet.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I think we've decided on just one middle name and saving some names for the future. I'm still not sure who to name the baby after. I'm leaning towards Ruth because of our tradition of passing down her ring. I would love to include Annie's name but since her fn is the same as my mil I'm worried about my mom being hurt if the baby is named after Julie and not her. DH is also an only child where I have lots of brothers and sisters to pass on family names.
Love the suggestion of Anneliese... We were thinking of that! Love the suggestion of Ruby but it's my sister's cat's name.
Wdyto...

Roseanna Elise
Rosemary Julianne

Eve Julianne
Alice Anneliese
Alice Ruthanne
Elisabeth Julianne (nn Betsy... Too similar to Lisa?)
