Eulalie or Winifred were my first thoughts, and I see others had similar ideas.

Of your list, I LOVE Penelope, but if you want something extremely unique, it is getting more and more use. Same with Charlotte.

Iris is nice, understated, short, but with that quirk.
I think Matilda is my favorite for you.

    Other thoughts:
    Louisa
    Lucretia
    Ethel (too old lady?)
    Gertrude (Love nn Trudy!)
    Imogen
    Cordelia
    Claudette
    Minerva
    Augustina (current crush of mine)
    Agatha
    Cornelia
    Harriet
    Mildred
    Polly
    Myrtle

    Good luck!

Unfortunately, a lot of the names on your list are becoming quite popular - Penelope, Matilda, and Eleanore, specifically. I recently took Penelope off of my own list - despite loving it, it's made such huge leaps the past couple of years.

    I ADORE Beatrix and Artemesia.

I might suggest these for you:

    Tullia
    Zelda
    Primula
    Eulalia
    Cecily
    Lucelia
    Ingrid
    Paloma
    Mythily
    Amabel
    Eudora
    Niobe
    Galatea
    Liora
    Madelief
    Lucasta
    Hania
    Jerusha
    Sunniva
    Vashti
    Evanthe

We have similar taste in names. We went with Florence in the end and I am so glad we did, it suits her totally and we really love it.

Artemisia is absolutely gorgeous! It's the only one from your list that feels like it fits your criteria. And Artemisia Gentileschi is a fantastic namesake.
I have completely random and eclectic taste in everything, including names.

I have to agree with some of the above posters: a lot of those names are no longer "unconventional" and many do not say "bohemian" to me. The only ones that do fit those guidelines are Artemisia & Zelena.

    Some others you might consider:

    Paloma
    Araminta
    Belina
    Rosabella
    Celandine
    Azalea
    Calixta
    Sophronia
    Pheraby
    Coriander
    Minerva
    Theodora
    Emerald
    Calantha
    Ophelia
    Kerensa
    Acadia
    Verity
    Topaz
    India
    Fiala
    Milena
    Zora
    Delina
    Eliska
    Julitta
    Magalie
    Ottilie
    Melantha
    Thomasina

Based on your description of yourself and your OH,I picked Matilda,Eleanore and Penelope. I do prefer the Elinor spelling personally, but I think the spelling you've gone for is more bohemian

They're not the most unusual names but they do have the right vibe,in my opinion. It's always strange having to remind myself how different name trends are in the USA vs UK. None of those three are heavily used in the UK at the moment!

I think the description was meant to help us get a description of them so we might know what direction to head in name wise. I do agree a majority of these names do not really match that description but it's still a good list to start with and sometimes we subconsciously tend to like a certain kind of names without knowing it.

    From the list I like
    Iris

    I suggest
    Vera
    Marceline
    Hazel
    Zelie
Dahlia (I like alliteration though most dont)
    Ivy
    Marielle
    Abigael
    Amandine
    Mildred
    Athena
Beatriz (I prefer this over Beatrix)
    Calista
Isis (there is a news anchor where I live that says this eee sees so I'm not sure which is the right way, I think that must be the Spanish way but I think eee sees or eye siss sounds nice)

Some of these may be repeats or too far out there so I apologize. I think you have an awesome last name to work with!

    My faves:

    1) Penelope
    2) Matilda
    3) Beatrix
    4) Eloise
    5) Iris

Luna has been growing on me recently but I still can't quite shake the Lunatic thing. Charlotte is very pretty but has always seemed a little "dull" to me, I prefer it as a middle. Eleanore is the same for me, lacking something. Artemisia and Zelena are just a little too out there for me. Especially Artemisia. It doesn't seem wearable to me, and personally I wouldn't like it if it was my name and I had to introduce myself using it, I know I'd feel self concious. That's something I always think about when deciding whether a name is quirky-cool, or just too quirky!! Obviously that's a personal opinion though. And I do think Zelena would make an awesome middle name, and may evern grow on me as a first with it's similarity to Selena.

Good luck, love your naming style!

I think Artemisia, Luna and Zelena are really the only ones that fit your criteria, but I like them better anyway. Artemisia could have the nn Artie or Missy. I also like suggestions of Isis, Celandine, Acadia/Arcadia, India and Emerald. I also think nature, spice and herb names work well for bohemian types, as long as they're not very popular.

    Love your naming style.

I voted for Luna, Eleanore and Beatrix. They are some of my very favourite names!! I also named my beautiful rabbit Eleanore - it is my favourite spelling.

I adore Charlotte too, but did not vote for it simply because it is very popular. Not only on Nameberry - but in my state, Victoria, Australia, it was the 5th most popular girls name last year.

I also thought some of these may be up your alley:
    Eudora
    Isadore
    Eugenie
    Pearl
    Auriol
    Agnes
    Imelda
    Laverne
    Dolores
    Melba
    Leatrice
    Zelda
    Zula
    Ottilie
    Leonore

If you really want something unique - look up name data in your state/country. As someone from the US telling you a name is super popular doesn't mean it is even heard of where you live. Eg. Avery is number 26 in the US - it's not even in top 100 in Australia - and I'd never heard of it until I became a Nameberry.
    All the best love!
    Current favs:
Mary Catherine Wildflower, Fae, Mimosa, Edith (nn Edie), Phaedra, Odessa, Pearl, Opal, Clover, Thisbe, Dovie

    Arto, Rupert, Casper, Willoughby, Herbert

I have 2 rabbits named Eleanore Saffron Nightingale & Gethin Abraham Jubilee, lizard named Ute (German OOteh) and 2 guinea pigs named Marmaduke Hubbard & Algernon (LG)
