    Ira

Do you pronounce Ira 'EYE-rah" or "EE-ruh' (or another way)? And which do you prefer?
If you saw the name would you expect Ira to be a boy or a girl?
Do you like the name Ira?

    Ira. i like it
its got unique and is short and sweet.
    i'd say it like ''EYE-ruh'
to me it sounds like a girls name
only downside- it reminds me of an asian trying to say "Isla" cos they cant say the L sound
apart from that i think its great

I would pronounce it eye rah. I think it is a lovely name for both genders but would prefer it on a boy

I say "eye rah" like Ira Hayes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ira_Hayes. It's all male to me, I can't imagine it on a girl but maybe that's because of my association to it.

Ira IS a male name and I would pity any girl given the name. I pronounce it eye-ruh.

I would pronounce it EYE-ruh, and I would expect it to be on a boy. I quite like the name, and it reminds me of the Ballad of Ira Hayes (a song about the person linked by pp).
