Just a quick question- are either you or your husband from India? Have you ever been there? If not, sorry to say but it sounds incredibly pretentious to name your child that.

what about Dolly Snow? it's definitely a name with a tie to American history (Dolly Madison) and is also uncommon but not unheard of.

Ellery- I vetoed this one because it doesn't seem feminine enough to me, it's a little bit ambiguous.

DH and I are not from India, nor have we visited (Although I would if the opportunity came up!) I don't think it's pretentious to name a baby India, it's actually a name that was popular during the civil war (ranked between 300 and 500 from what i've read). It's not like i"m naming her Bangledesh, or Latvia, India has a history of being used as a name.

Brielle- I love it! Dh hates it. That was one of his vetoes.

Good news! DH and I Agreed on another name to add to the list: Islie/Isley. I can't decide which spelling I prefer, any suggestions? I think it's actually a surname? Anyone know?

Anyone have any suggestions that don't begin with I?
