Why does Iris have to be so popular now? That one's pretty nice.[/QUOTE]

Agreed! I love Iris! I don't think it is popular everywhere. Check your area...
What about Irene? It means rainbow. I know you don't want a name that means something, but it's just a thought.

Another poster has a daughter named Midnight. Has anyone suggested that?

Iris means rainbow and Irene means peace. I love Iris as well and it's even popular in Finland, though the Finnish version Iiris. Have you considered Irissa/Irisa?
Mum to Mousie, Foo and Bumptious.

I thought about Juno for a few hours and I'm over it. ARGH! This is NEVER going to happen! I know an Irene, so no thanks, and Iris is probably popular in my area or whereever we'd move to. Midnight is cool and I have considered it, but IDK, I think it works better for a boy.

Maybe pp is right and I need to just go over my list and things I've rejected again. Is Moonstone terrible as a firstname? It is, isn't it? I think I need to stop thinking about it for a while, I've never had a name at this point in pregnancy before, so maybe I need to just chill out. Don't know if I can though!

I think Juno is great. It's unusual, it's mythological, it's kind of out there - a lot of the thing you are looking for. I think you should reconsider it

Currently crushing on Graziella, Rosaline, Felicia, Amarantha, Glenys and Anemone | Alistair, Orion, Jarvis, Emrik, Angus and Inigo among others

Juno doesn't appeal to me, but Junia does. It has been getting some love on Nameberry.
I agree that Midnight sounds boyish.
Moonbeam sounds more feminine than Moonstone.
So you like names with O sounds. Make a list of all of those.
Here are some: I think there might even be some new ones for you.
    Diablo
    Dido
    Lido
    Calypso
    Rio
    Echo
    Emory
    Ebony
    Ivory
    Indigo
    Onyx
    Oakley (maybe a bit boyish)
    Olympia
    Ione
    Imogen
    Elodie
    Olive?
    Goldie?
