How about virtue names? They don't have the nature imagery, but they do have strong emotional resonance. Also, I think that the get at the crusty, old lady idea and they are word names. None of these are in the top 1000 in the US

    Amity
    Unity
    Verity
    Mercy
    Honor
    Prudence
    Constance

Well, the English language only contains so many words that are strongly associated with nature and sparkly things. Vulpa, Vulpina and Vulpecula make me think of foxes, but they're not English. I'll also throw out Sable, Ermina and Erminia. Then there's Glint, which reminds me of Glimmer and the others on your shiny "middle name only" list.

I hope you'll (re)consider Opal, Crimson, Frostine, Foxglove and Coral.

I know it was suggested on the last thread but I think Imelda is perfect for you. I think Opal could still work. There is a saying "Pearls are for tears" but that hasn't stopped many others from using it, so I don't think you should rule Opal out yet.

I think Luna is great too. The only really ridiculous name on your list is Bunny. Please don't use it! I don't imagine I'd ever be able to take an adult bunny seriously. It could be an interesting middle name though.

My vote goes to Imelda. I'd love Zelda for you too, if it were't for the fact that your sons name also begins with Z. My second pick would be a toss up between Luna and Opal.

Grace, Early 20's and Bride-to-Be...Dreaming of Future Babies.

Lucy Primrose, Alice Juliette, Rose Charlotte, Madeline Sophie, Lillian Faye, Ivy Elena, Amélie Winter.
Mae Seraphina nn Maisy, Phoebe Luna, Annabella Violet, Kate Susannah.
Noah Samuel, Rory Joshua, Luca Gabriel, Isaac Beau, Louis Daniel, Henry Rowan, William Elliott, Roman Alexander.

Two of my guilty pleasures are Larkspur and Lightfoot for girls, I think they'd fit your criteria (although Lightfoot could be problematic re: teasing, with "foot" as a suffix). Also Stelmaria is a name from a Philip Pullman novel, which gives me the sparkly, starlit vibe.

    Other suggestions:
Herb/plant names - Tansy, Chamomile, Eclipta, Foxglove, Nightshade, Primrose, Oleander, Sassafras (I met a teenage Sassafras once, NN Sassy!), Pennyroyal, Plum, Saffron, Valerian, Vetiver... if Katniss hadn't just been made huge by the movie I would suggest it for you.

Also thought of Nightingale, Sparrow, Stellaluna, Winsome, and Whimsy.
    Currently Loving:
    ♥ August, Henry, Dodge, Revere
♥ Mabel, Lilith, Leona, Avis, Zelda

I like Viridiflora, which means a green flower - the flower itself being green, not just the plant. I find Viridiflora-class tulips especially exquisite. I do not know that I'd be brave enough to use this name but the increasing use of Flora made me think maybe? And for someone wanting a really obscure name?

I do love Zelda, its nice with your son's name. And it means lucky. I wish I could convince my DH to let me use it, it was on my list.

Zephirine is a favourite of mine, it means west wind.

Zinnia is a flower, one I like very much. Gosh, I'm showing my garden nerd side in this thread, sorry. I could go nearly A-Z on flower names.

I have Hazel Dove on my list for a girl... yes that's comparatively common, sorry... some of my other favourite bird names for girls are Audax and Kestrel.

Of gemstones I have Emerald on my list. I have remorsefully removed Topaz as I can't think of a good nickname. I may push it towards middle status though.
