One of my good friends has a daughter whose middle name is Starfire. I'm pretty sure she got it from Teen Titans but its still very pretty and might be something for you to consider. I also absolutely love Tigerlily and Hyacinth and Iris is one of my very favorites. I wanted to add that Iridaceae is the family name of irises and I think its very beautiful and interesting.

I have completely random and eclectic taste in everything, including names.

I like the suggestion of Sapphira and Veridian. I used to work with a lady whose daughter was named Meridian and I thought that was so cool. And Meridian definitely has a magical, watery image to me. What about Kit? Baby foxes are called kits, that would be a cool connection to Wolf(gang). Or a Vixen is a female fox...I know it's kind of a "sexy" name nowadays, but I've always loved the sound of it.

And I feel you about the name Clover. It has been one of my favorites for years (before I met my husband) and when we got together, I found out he had a good friend named Clover so he could never use it for a baby. It's a little different I guess, because if his friend had a different name and I could use, I would use it in a heartbeat, regardless of trendiness.

"* beautiful green fertile magical nature, like a meadow full of deer and gnomes and flowers
* sparkly twinkly rainbow glittery stardust (I know I'm ridiculous)
* the ocean, with its transluscent blue-greens and creatures both real and mythical (like mermaids)"
LOL!! Not ridiculous! I know exactly what you mean, and I too have no idea on how to get there. There's something about these images that makes me so happy and feel so free, and I would love that in a name for my child. I noticed that you had Glow on your list - this was used recently by a blogger, if you google 'Cakies' it will come up. And over on Marginamia there was a baby name consultation for a lady who had a daughter with a middle name moonstone. Google them and see what you think. There was also a great nameberry blog a little while ago about baby names by bloggers, which had some awesome names which were a little left-field.
Hope that this helps, and I can't wait to see more responses!

My favorites on your opening list are Pixie and Ginger, hands down. But. There is the aging gracefully thing.
Someone suggested Azure, which maybe is too much Z, like Zelda or Zinnia, both of which might otherwise be wonderful.
Other preliminary ideas:
Cirrus
Caper
Kindle
Lumina
Tomorrow
Lichen
Presence
Mistle
Swallow
Meadowlark
Thistle

Why not Meadow? A word you used in your description, and a beautiful name at that. Not too far off from appelations like Maude, Maeve, Madigan etc so its not completely unfamiliar.
Would you consider Valentine? Or what about Ocean/Oceana? Topanga?
How about Hart? or Heart? Lithe? Blythe? Poem? Novel? Fable? Centaur? Solstice? Soul? Soleil? Wreath? Verse? Zenith? Zeal? Divine? Aura? Echo?
If I were you, I would take inspiration from a dictionary. Go buy yourself the Oxford English Dictionary - if you want a word name surely you will be able to find "the one" in there.
