I love Gilmore Girls, but I never cared much for the name until I went to Germany and heard the story behind the name. Very cool! I love names that are lovely and have a cool history/story.

At this point I am starting to wonder if the OP is trolling.

My seamstress's last name is Stariha (star-eye-uh), I thought you might like that, it's very pretty sounding and fits your sparkly stardust thing you want

What about Marguerite instead of Marigold? Or maybe Goldenrod? May be ripe for teasing though... Goldenstar?
I'm not sure if any of these have been suggested...but, here goes:
Aspen
Cameo
Cymbeline
Coriander
Claret
Cygnet (a baby swan)
Cherish
Evergreen
Fern
Heavenly
Honesty
Kale
Linden (I probably suggested this one already, I love it!)
Larkspur
Oleander
Petunia
Signet (an official seal and a type of marigold)
Tansy
Tulip
Tigerlily
Trillium
I got most of them from a gardening website.

I like Kricket with a K
and What about Shellaine...with the nn Shells or Shell...Seashells are so magical when you find one, when you see one and always invoke wonderful feelings...
I like your name ideas but some of them are a little "hippie Commune" and don't work unless you live off the grid with a group of like minded people....elsewise you are setting up this little girl for lots of teasing...and no one wants that...

Added Turquoise (though I still don't like the nn Turk and what else would you call her, and is blue too trendy after Beyonce's baby?), Calypso, and Bijou.
Yeah thing is my third son's name begins with "Ze," and it does sound really great with Wolfgang, I just don't know if I can put another "Ze" name in there, ykwim?
And I do know what you mean, mollykat. Maybe I had way too many My Little Ponies growing up, maybe I have synethesia, but that imagery is just what I love in a girl's name. And I can assure you I'm no troll. Unfortunately a lady this crazy and neurotic actually exists! You'd have to be pretty insane to come up with this list of criteria out of nowhere! I guess what happened is I got crazier with each boy name and now I feel like I can't (and don't want to) just go back to the top 1000 for a girl's name!

But there are plenty of "normal" names that aren't in the top 1000.... like...
Sylvie
Emmeline
Eulalie
Clover - it's not even on the top 1000 and you originally liked it....
Marigold - not on there either
Mirabelle
Artemis
Selene
Flora
Fleur
are just some of the many names not on the list that aren't out there like Moonbeam and StardustOur Cats:
Calcifer & Mittzy

Yeah and I know I'll probably end up going with something in the second 1000s tier of popularity like with my younger two sons' names instead of something wild like Moonflower, but I keep those names on the list as inspiration and as possible middle names.
Why does Iris have to be so popular now? That one's pretty nice.
