What's your favourite A name for a boy?

This is for a farflung sibset-involving future, not the immediate here-and-now, but I've told my mom I'll use an A name for a 2nd boy if I ever have one, particularly if I ever have male twins.

She really wants me to use one for a FIRST son, you see, but I refuse to concede to anything involving 3 or more names.

I like Alexander and Alan but can't use either. I like Aidan but it's very popular, along with its other spellings. I like Alastair but think it could be considered odd in the US (we are in Australia at the moment but we could move back to the US at some point).

Opinions, etc. please. What A name would you use, for a boy, if you had to use an A name, and would it be a first or middle name?

I'm in the us and I know an Alastair and an Allister. It's really not that strange. In fact I didn't even think twice about it until this very moment.

    Asher

Arthur is cool. I'm not sure I'm ready to contemplate Albert.

Asher and Avery are pretty much tied for my favorite "A" boys' name. They're both on my short list, but as Asher's on my top 5 and Avery's only on my top 10, Asher marginally wins. I am over-the-moon in love with Abbott, too, I just don't know where to put it on my list, haha.

I also like August, Addison, Amadeus, Aloysius, Aurelian, Aidan, Ashton, Alban, Atticus (love Atticus!), etc.

    Good luck!

Arthur and Abner are my favorite "A" names. Abner is probably too clunky for most people though.

If you don't mind going really Biblical, Abijah (rhymes with Elijah) and Adonijah are two recent finds for me that I really like.
