Berries, I need your Help!
I was really into the name Tobias/Tobiah until I saw that on "Good Luck Charlie," selected the name Toby for their new born baby. Yes, I realize it may not become too popular, but I do not want to take the chance. This is where you awesome Berries come in...I need help finding another awesome Boy name that I will just love for all time. My name is 2/2/3 syllabus and last ends in -ton. To get an idea of what I use to have on my list, here are some names:
Coleton/Colton: The Co from my first name; l/e from my middle; and the ton from my last. Although I love, it really sound too close to my last name.
Chandler: homage to my sister's name, but I am not "loving" it as much as I did in the beginning.
Edmund/Edmond: possible mn; homage to my dad's middle name Edward. With the whole "Twilight Saga" going on, don't think I can use this for a while. Lol
Christian: Loved it since young. However, "The 50 Shades of Grey" and having a cousin nn-Chris, kind of ruined any chance of me using it.
Tobias/Tobiah: Loved it because of the nn Toby. Do not like Tobin.
Caleb, Josiah, Micah, John, Elijah--etc. Unusable because of people I know with these baby names. And I am not really trying to go with a biblical name sib set.
Henry: Not really my style.
MN Possibilities I had liked: Adonis, Phoenix, Orion, Talon, Onyx...couple more in my siggy.
I want something strong, handsome, yet, a bit rare/unpopular maybe something under the Top 200 or so? If I can pronounce the name and find it attractive not only for a young child, but as an adult...I may consider it. It can be exotic, foreign, maybe even a bit popular. I know it may seem silly, but this has been bothering me for awhile.
So far, I am adamant on the name Liliana Rajani (will either change or add another middle name) for a girl. So maybe that can also be helpful in the names I may like. Sidenote: Although I love Ravi and Rajani as possible middle name choices, I do not want to seem disrespectful toward other cultures who may use this name. So, if you can help me with mn combos as well, I will appreciate it.
Really anticipating the names. If Berries can help me with the starting process, I can give more ideas of what I do and do not like.
Thanks 100,
natural.Last edited by natural; June 27th, 2012 at 12:08 AM.

I like the name Callum, which could be a possible alternate to Caleb, which you said you can't use. I like this name but cannot use it myself because I already have a son Caleb and I think it's too similar, but would definitely consider it if Caleb was a friend or relatives child & not a sibling.
Some other names I have on my potential list are:
Samson
Orlando
Dexter
Luca
Jasper
Graydon
Cooper
Hope this helps.

I actually like the name Callum: It partially plays homage to my grandma's maiden name, so it was on my list at one point. I am just unsure on the correct pronunciation. Can you help? Cal-lum; Call-um; other?
Samson another one I was thinking about as homage to my grandma's name. I was thinking of Samson Neil. Just feels as though it is missing something.
Orlando NMS
Dexter NMS--"Dexter Laboratory" and "Dexter" ruined it for me.
Luca Possible MN
Jasper NMS--but has thought about Caspian.
Graydon The-don clashes with the -ton in my last name.
Cooper Like, but all I can think of is "Pooper Scooper Cooper."
flutterby8, thanks a lot, you seem as if you are my name cousin.

@kala_way -- Thank you and here are my thoughts...
Colton - was special because it took letters from my name. Have a cousin named Quentin. My last name will not allow the others to work IMO.
Edmund - I still believe I may use this as a middle name. Edison does not work with my last name. Edgar--have relatives with that name.
Christian - Damian = relative. Caspian - maybe. Sebastian and Dorian --NRMS.
Others - Either family members or NMS. But I can deal with Leander as a middle name. I also thought if I had B/G twins their middle names would be Leander and Lavender. Lol

I pronounce it Cal-lum, but not sure if it's correct or not.
I don't mind Samson Neil, but I think Samson would sit better with a stronger middle name.
As for Dexter...I hadn't thought about that show, but now that I have....hmmmm maybe not!
I still find myself really drawn to the name Jasper, but am not 100% sure if I love it - like Orlando I find it infinitely appealing but am not sure if it's a little 'softer' than I'd like for a boys name, but I really do like Caspian as an alternate, thanks for adding another option to my list.

Casimir - NMS
Matthias - Like, but too close to another relatives' name.
Clayton - Similar to my Mom's ex-boyfriend name. Did not like him. Also ends in -ton just like my last name.
Abram- NMS
Edwin - I think Edmond/Edmund are the only Ed-names I can stand.
Duncan - Annoys me for some reason.
Eamon - Close to family friend's name.
Thank you lis09.
I hope Berries will keep them coming and do not find me annoying. Lol
So far with the giving names...
Anything that has -ton will be too much with my last name.
Edmond/Edmund are the one Ed's I can stand and maybe used as a middle name since I cannot stand the nn Ed/Eddie.
@Shannon: I like Samson Neil, and I agree that it needs something stronger, maybe that is why I feel there is something lacking. I like Samson, but not Samuel. Do not care much for the nn Sam. I like Neil, because her middle name is Nell, so I wanted the masculine version of it. And You're Welcome.
I adore Caspian--even though it is related to Narnia, I like the story related to it, also there is the Caspian Sea and the extinct Caspian Tiger that may make some interesting tales when telling him why his name became to be.

Here are a few more ideas that were scrubbed off my list several babies ago by hubby or by circumstances changing...and a few that I have always sort of fancied, but never enough to use...maybe there is something in here for you.
Denzel - love the masculinity and relative obscurity of this name in the playgrounds
Rylan - this name grabbed me in my first pregnancy, but unfortunately it didn't end well and I felt I couldn't use this name afterwards
Kade - never been on my list, but it's my nephews name and I quite like it these days (or it could be that he's just super cute)
Levi - One of the ones that I've always had a bit of a quiet crush on, but I've never loved it quite enough to marry it to my child
Balthazar - too much for my hubby
Vaughn -could possibly be slightly influenced by my demi-crush on Vince Vaughn, but a cool name never the less
Still looking for inspiration myself because I don't think any on my short list of favourites is going to fly with baby daddy...mmmm maybe if I run Denzel past him again he'll have forgotten he didn't like it 6 years ago?!
Best of luck
Shannon
