Help choose MN/FN combos!
What do you think of these name combos? What are your favorite and which two do you see as sisters? BTW we use NN and FN interchangeably and MN are family names.
Annora Violet NN Nora
Cora Violet
Sylvia Elaine NN Sylvie
Vala Elaine
Evangeline Viola, Evangeline Elaine, Evangeline Crystal, Evangeline Whitley NN Eva, Evie... DH said he would call her Vangie, not my fav, but I will not call her Evan or Angel
Emmaline Viola NN Em, Emma, or Emme/Emmy
Eden Viola, Eden Valentine NN Edie
Elena Violet, Elena Valentine NN Lain or Laney
Matilda Violet NN Tillie or Mattie
Luna Violet
If you have any suggestions of other MNs working that we did not list for the FN, let me know. (We are choosing names to keep the theme of a V in the girl's name, either FN or MN.)
Edit: I realize there are a lot of names, so I made it easier and created a list to vote on! I still would appreciate feedback (especially on the 2 you can see as sisters).Last edited by rushli; June 26th, 2012 at 05:39 PM.

My recommendation is ...
eVangeline tess [and] sylVia kate
... as a sibset comprised of longer vintage names containing "v" paired with diminutive vintage middles.
P.S. Evangeline and Tess have complementary Christian meanings.Last edited by lori johnson; June 26th, 2012 at 06:11 PM.

Love the Evangeline Tess meanings, but Tess it does not flow with our last name... Tessa would fix it, but DH said no to it... at least in the FN spot (DH's mom is Theresa.) Kate does not work b/c we want to honor family with MN.
I realize there are a lot of names, so I made it easier and created a list to vote on! I still would appreciate feedback (especially on the 2 you can see as sisters). If I was thinking, I would have done this from the start! :P

Oh my goodness, Theresa is future-baby-to-be's paternal grandmother's name? Evangeline Theresa Rush [4/3/1 syllable count], meaning "good news, message" / "to harvest", couldn't be more suitable, then! [Tess/Tessa/Teresa/Theresa have the same meanings.]
Is future-baby-to-be's maternal grandmother's name among these: Elaine, Viola, Violet and Valentine? If not, are there any other vintage family names that would flow better with Sylvia?

Cora Violet-Love both names so much!
Sylvia Elaine NN Sylvie-Beautiful. Love Sylivia
Vala Elaine-Not a fan of Vala, like Elaine
Evangeline Viola, Evangeline ElaineNN Eva, Evie-Like Evangeline, so pretty
Emmaline Viola NN Em, Emma, or Emme/Emmy-Pretty! I personally like Emmeline better.
Eden Viola-Love this! Beautiful
Elena Violet-Love this too.
Matilda Violet NN Tillie or Mattie-Adorable!

I can definately see Matilda Violet and Sylvia Elaine as sisters.

The bummer about Evangeline is that it is hard to yell... I don't actually yell AT my boys unless safety is a concern, but it is hard to say in a stern voice as well. Eva Theresa does work though. It was pointed out to me that Vangie is not far off from vagina, but I do not think that really is a concern (correct me if I am wrong). I still do not like the way Vangie sounds and that is the only NN DH will consider. The rest of us can call her something else, but my big fear is that she would do what I did to my mom: pick the one NN she did not like!
