Am I crazy or could this work for a girl...

Clovis. I've always loved the name Clover for a girl, but my husband says we can't use it because he had a friend in high school named Clover, it would be "weird." I started thinking of similar sounding names and came across Clovis. I know Clove is getting some attention now because of the Hunger Games, so could Clovis be usable too? On a boy or girl, actually.
My cherished daughter, Rowan Jane. ~b. 10/2011~

I've never considered it before, but Clovis is actually very modern, very on-trend, and has a lovely sound. I say go for it!

That is my niece's name and I LOVE it. They spell her name Klovis but either way looks good to me.

There is a town called Clovis out here. To me it is kind of like, Mavis which isn't very attractive to me. It is also kind of like Ottis or Travis, both boy names, a little on the hill billy side, IMO. So I'm not totally digging it.

Clovis is one of my faves. It's actually a boy name but since it's also a place name I can see it on a girl

I was thinking this too. I have NO idea why, but the name Clovis just sounds odd to me.

Clovis was a King of the Franks so it's actually a very old MALE name.
    All the best,

Sorry, to say but my mind is also drawn to similar sounding body part. It's not a nice word to me and I would never use it as a name.
